Art Davis is truly a pure guy, says bless you every time someone sneezes. Content is relatively easy but his repetitive and long winded lectures can make it seem more confusing than it is.

Comment:

My friends and I called him "dad" all term. He tries to be funny in a really endearing way and made me enjoy the class just because of his humor. Class overall was easy, I did not use the textbook at all. Studied an average amount for the midterm and got an 85 on it. I found labs fun and interesting, and the exams and quizzes easy.

I have to say Art was one of my favourite profs. He is very caring, light-hearted and funny. He has amazing lectures and is so willing to help you if you are not getting something. His midterm is very straightforward, study his notes and you will do great on the test. I loved going to his class and thoroughly enjoyed the content of Bio 120!

Art is one of the nicest teachers I've ever met. He is also very good at remembering names and faces, even though the class is huge. He talks fast and it's hard to keep up, but if you take extra time after class to review everything, things will be easier to process. At first it just felt like a bunch of words to me.

He gives very detailed notes! I found him hard to pay attention to because he doesn't speak with a lot of expression, but he definitely knows what he is talking to and his notes are some of the best i've ever had from a prof! Just don't miss class because he has a lot of fill in the blanks!

Art Davis is kind, light-hearted, and funny without trying. I found his teaching style to be very effective for me. His tests were written rather than multiple choice. He really cares about the material he teaches and does his best to make sure his students understand it.

He really gives you clear concepts and wants you to do good. He does although begin slow every class and then realizes that the time is getting short so he tries to speed along!! Its all fill in the blank so make sure you have quick typing skills or else you will miss something. Or take pictures. The exams weren't too bad!

Art was a great prof. His slides are easy to understand and easy to read. He had fill in the blank notes - so attendance is necessary. He is very detailed and almost everything in lectures is on the exams. He tries to make the lecture enjoyable as possible. I would take another class from him.

The only issue I had in this class was with his format of fill in the blanks. This method of learning did absolutely nothing for me as his notes were highly complex and all you had to do was search for the blanks. He does not post the notes with the blanks filled, so attendance is mandatory (unless you have some really good friends in the class)

Dr. Davis was my favorite prof this term. He's incredibly knowledgeable, puts in a huge amount of effort into planning each lecture, and makes each class fun. His excitement makes you want to pay attention. I would definitely recommend and will pick his classes again if I have the opportunity.

Davis was straight from the beginning about topics to be covered and then followed through to the letter. Perfectly outlined fill in the blank notes where he writes them along with you so you always get them all down. Very clear in his explanations of material and tests are written based on given material. class notes relate to lab well. must study

Great prof, really knows what he is talking about. More then willing to help you out if you don't understand something. The course is a tough one (just cause there is so much to know) but he does give you all the information you need. Notes range from fill in the blank to diagrams and just hand written. Would take another class with him

Art is amazing!! He makes things so clear and handwrites notes as he goes, but gives you a fill-in-the-blank sheet to follow along. He is so nice and always smiling and SUPER excited about plants. Put a smile on my face everyday. He will answer any and all questions and always goes back if someone misses a note.
