Very sweet lady but a very hard grader. Seems to play favorites when it comes to grades. Class is a little boring however i feel like she made everything we read very clear. Assignments are very ridiculous especially for a Journey class. Not the worst professor in the world though.

If you put effort into the class, you will have no problems. She really likes when students go into her office hours. Though she can be a bit unclear on assignments, if you go in to her office hours she will basically feed you exactly what she wants on the assignment. Pay attention in class and a quick skim of the readings will get you an A.

Bad teacher period. She really does mean well, but her assignments are way too complex and vague. She gives a new writing assignment every class, and most of them actually can take some time. You never know how to fix your paper because she writes all of 2 comments on 5 page papers ect. If you like to write and read A LOT, take her.

Not that bad of a class at all. She sends a lot of email reminders of what to do and makes discussion boards that help you to start out essays. Just do your work and you'll be fine. Only complaint is she makes you go to the writing center a lot.

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had the misfortune of studying under. Unclear in every explaination, pointless journal entries that are impossible to post, and overall, a totally irrelevant class. I feel sorry for next year's freshmen who will be forced to waste their precious time with this garbage. If you can avoid Sanyal, do it.

I dont know why people are being so mean. She was not that bad of a teacher at all. Laptops are mandatory-I would sit in the back and IM all class. I swear you can do her lesson plan online cuz all she does is ask u to answer the journal questions on the discussion board and then talks about in class. As for the paper, worth alot but OK grader! :)

She is a horrible professor. For a survey course, she asks WAY TOO MUCH and she has no problem assigning extra projects throughout the semester which account for 2% of your grade. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It's really not worth it for a SURVEY COURSE! She assignes more work than my advanced electives!
