Take this class for real in depth desire to learn not for easy grade or just to cover a random elective. He is a great professor, but only if you are there for real interest. He does not tolerate disruption in his classes. This class was amazing and I elected to T.A. the class after taking it since I loved it so much. He is an amazing professor

If you are really there to learn the content, this is the right professor for you. He will call you out if you goof offfall asleep. He is one of the best professors in the whole Philosophy department and I have taken as many classes with him as I could. His books are great and easy to understand. He is the most inspirational professor I had.

I didn't enjoy this class at all. Lectures are incredibly boring, and he will call you out if he thinks you aren't paying attention. The entire grade was based on two tests. Makes you buy several books he wrote, and only used two of them. Reading assignments were kindof a lot, for an elective.

I definitely do NOT recommend this class. If you have the chance, avoid it like the plague. If you're stuck with it, then make the most of it. Your only grades are the midterm and final (5050). He has some extra credit but is very unclear how it helps you. Tests aren't awful as long as you read and study for days. He's also kinda rude and annoying

If you want to have all of your attendance and class participation be completely negated, then by all means take one of his classes. mysticism and mediation in India was boring, repetitive, and the entire class grade was based on a mid-term and a final that Malholtra did little to prepare his students for. All in all a disappointing class.

He is difficult to understand, but if you go to his office hours, he will get to know you better, and you will see that he is a very easy going guy. He allowed us to turn in extra credit when we asked him about it. Overall I enjoyed him as a teacher.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is extremely difficult to understand. Only two tests each 50% of your grade and there are no study guides. He calls out students and is rude. Avoid this class.

It is very difficult to understand him, but then you get used to it. His notes are scattered across the board and you have to attend all of the lectures and do all of the readings to do well. He is a harsh grader. He is a good person, but an ok teacher.

His lectures are pretty boring, but has an interesting perspective on phil101, focusing on the meaning of life/ death and western philosophies. There are only 2 tests, which I found rather difficult. To do well, you need to pay attention and attend all the classes

He's a great person but not a good teacher. All he does in lectures is talk about the readings but its difficult to take notes on them. Only 2 tests but and 1 short paper but you're screwed if you do poorly on them. His grading is bad too.

HE IS AN AMAZING PERSON. Has a foundation that builds these schools in India and stuff and you just learn in time that he is an amazing human being. That being said, he's an okay teacher at best. Rambles in lecture. Class is tough cause it's only based on a couple grades. Doesn't make due dates clear.

Yoga class is very hard but worth the time and energy. You will get out what you put into the course. I was able to complete yoga moves I never thought possible. The readings from the text gave me clarity and insight into the religious and philosophical aspects of Yoga.

He's a nice guy but not a good teacher. His notes are rambling, there are no study guides for the test and he talked about topics that had no pertinence to class subject. He also never directly answers questions. He hems and haws but never answers your question. I wouldn't recommend him at all.

There are only two tests and a couple of papers/reflections, all of which are pretty comprehensible and easy if you do all the readings and listen closely in class. Don't zone out in his class, he will call you out on it. Great guy, though; you'll be fine if you just do all the work and are engaged in the class. :)

Took his Yoga Class. It turned out to be really hard. You have to know a lot of hard words, so pay attention! His tests are difficult. Come to class, he takes attentence. he is really smart and you can tell that he knows his topics. I admire him even though I only got a C. I would say he is really hard, but a great teacher.

Everyone is really too harsh on this guy he is really not that bad. As long as you pay attention, take GOOD notes which is very important, and pay attention in class you'll do fine. You just have to put effort into the class and study hard, I got an A- and I really thought some of the topics were interesting. A nice guy, good stories.

He was alright... Kind of hard to understand and since there is only two tests people may get worried that they will fail, but if you go to class and pay attention... youll be fine. People on here who say that he is hard and fails you with no remorse probably just didn't show up to class
