Comment:

Ashok is a very interesting man. He showed up the first day of class and said Ashok was not here today, handed out the syllabus and then left. We learned the second day of class that he was in fact Ashok. Midterms were a bit long but expected for open-book exams. Very straightforward and easy to achieve a good mark.

An amazing professor! all tests are open book, even the final. He uses handouts and clearly explains them slowly. Class can be dry but he opens up with jokes when he can. He even does practice midterms in class to help you out and directly tells you what will be on the final. His midterms are pretty long so don't be fooled by them being open book.

Great prof! Always helpful outside class. Uses handouts rather than powepoints or just straight notes, which saves you from having to write as much. Exams are all open book. M/C questions are often vague and hard to figure out, but the written exam questions outweigh the M/C, and are easier to succeed on. Would take a class from this prof again!

Ashok may be a quiet guy but his lectures are incredibly informative. If you don't exceed in his class, you have no one to blame but yourself as his tests are almost identical to his assignments, and examples, and he is happy to help anyone who needs it. His self-deprecating sense of humour is hilarious and helps make a dull subject fun.

originally thought the class would be good. it turned out to be a waste of time. this guy reads his examples from text and has a poor marking layout. There is loss of marks without explanation on exams. He misses classes, and is hard to understand. Not sure why im paying top dollar to have the text book regurgitated to me. avoid with passion.

Patil is amazing! TAKE HIS CLASS! He is very quite, so you might want a good seat. I sat in the middle and was fine. He's super funny, very approachable and easy to talk to. If you ever have a question do not hesitate to ask! Exams are closed book with a cheat sheet (1 page, front and back). If you do the assignments, the exams are easy.

I loved Ashok! He is a very quiet man so get a seat in the front. He had this really dry humor that is super funny! He will help you with anything even if you just drop by his office without making an appointment. Tests are open book and final is open book. Homework isn't too hard if you take notes in class. Loved him!!!

Had Ashok for Comm 205 and Comm 104. He is hilarious! But he is also a wonderful instructor. He will stay after class and go over any questions you have. He did this for 205 alot. Easy classes! I did really well with him!

I took Ashok for 104 and will be taking him again for accounting this year and I'm really looking forward to it. He's hard to understand and he talks to softly but he is so helpful when you need him. Just email him and set up a meeting and he'll be there for you and will make sure you understand. Open book exams made it pretty easy as well.

So hilarious! He knows the class is boring so he doesn't pretend its anything its not. Sit close to the front because he speaks quietly. Ask questions. All exams open book. He gave us the outline for the final. Listen for his jokes, they make the class priceless

I love this prof! he's so funny, and very approachable. He speaks quietly and has a somewhat heavy accent, so you have to sit close to the front. If you don't go to class, you'll find it very difficult, but otherwise it's not bad. He wants to help you, so if you have ANY questions, go to him! He'll like you a lot if he knows you're trying.

he onviously hates being there. makes it very difficult to understand. hes monotone and boring and i can never stay awake. he is a nice guy and will help you if you ask, but avoid this class AT ALL COSTS. if you start to lose interest you will fail.

I marked attendence as mandatory because you need to take the notes in this class or you won't pass! It's all open book so your notes are what will get you through the class. Patil is a hilarious cat. Super easy first midterm, retarded hard 2nd midterm and final. Make sure you know your stuff your 2nd midterm and final.

You could probably get by without using the text book but he takes some assignment questions so be aware of that. The midterms were very easy and there were no surprises. However, since the class avs on the midterms were so high, the final was brutal. Brutal meaning the questions were ambiguous and you had to guess what he was asking.Good prof tho

Very funny if you understand his dry sense of humor, sit near the front to hear his hilarious comments. Going to class is essential, you need to example problems to do well on the exams. I found him slightly forgetful and it's obvious he hates teaching but the class was okay.
