Comment:

Prof provides you all the notes that he will go through, so going to class isn't mandatory. Nice professor, and will definitely try to help you understand. Make sure you do majority of the practice problems before exams. Midterm was easy high average, but final is much harder and had a much lower average.

Awarded best teacher twice, not for nothing. Extraordinarily creative ways of simplifying and explaining financial methods. One of the best profs I ever had. Take any course you can with him. It'll be a pleasure.

One of my best at SFU :) He explained everything clearly and slowly so that students can follow in class without any preparation in advance. Midterm is just like optional practices, so make sure you do them. Final is harder, especially theory MCQs, but still fair.

His explanations are straightforward if you pre-read before class. MIdterm average was ridiculously high, but is a given as he posts everything online and it is very, very similar. Final was a bit harder, but pretty straightforward. If you dont do well in a high-average class, youll probs do below average here.

Comment:

One of the best prof I've met in SFU, he is definitely knowledgeable and kind. Derivatives is a hard and complicated topic while Avi made it super simple to learn through his well-organized notes. And he always gives good feedbacks, he doesn't speak fast but he makes it clear for students. Highly recommend him for BUS 316.

He is a really good prof. Learn a lot from him. His lectures are so clear and well-organized. He gives you everything so that no need to buy textbook. In order to do well, just attend every lecture, pay attention, do the assignments and sample practices, you will be good. PS: He is like a warm grandpa

Avi is one of the best professors I have ever had throughout my seven years study at SFU.(Both at undergrad and graduate level).The notes are well written and made the material much clear than any existing textbooks (Hull, McDonald, Jarrow Turnbull). The notes are also clear enough substitute attendance of lecture. Exams are fair for those practice

Avi is what other profs should strive to be. he responds to emails promptly, has excellent lecture notes, corrects the typos in his notes as soon as they are discovered (and then he lets u know on the website exactly where the corrections were made). he is interesting, explains things clearly, and overall is a very pleasant and humble human being.

He's a nice guy. The thing I like about him is that he replies your emails quickly. No need to buy the textbook because his notes are sufficient for the exams. Assignments and exams are easy but the class curve was so high... it may work against you. It didn't for me.

Very nice Prof. Same as 316 stuff. Homework style easy fill-in-the-blank midterm but lengthly dreadful killer real-life-case final. Last 3 lectures = no homework = no practice = no idea.
