a lovely woman. Just talk to her if you need help, and know that she really knows what shes doing. Very smart. She just gets frustrated when no one tries or assumes her classes will be easy because they are music classes.

I've played flute for a few years prior to taking this course so it wasn't that hard for me. I would only recommend this course to people who actually practice and would take it seriously. Lessons are incredibly boring and slow, most of us just looked at our phones until it was time to practice. Don't blame us it was three hours long.

A knowledgeable prof with high expectations. Not a lot of time was spent playing the music she assigned but she still expected everyone to figure it out for the next week, even those with no knowledge in music. Very enthusiastic to students she thinks are hardworking and more advanced, but not that friendly or encouraging to others.

She is so inspirational and encouraging! You can tell she has a true passion for music and she just wants her students to succeed. You cannot pass this class without really putting the effort in and practicing and attemding class, and many of my peers probably found this alarming. But the good news is she makes class fun, she has good humor.

She's tough and puts a lot of pressure on her students. But I think its because she believes in them and wants to see their best. Talks a lot, but sometimes it's helpful.

If you have some flute experience, you will be fine. Otherwise, avoid. She does not teach, she just expects you to know. She did not teach a drop of music theory, yet it was on the exam. Then spends an entire class pointing out mistakes in her condescending ways. You will barely play any flute. She talks the entire class about pointless ish.

Very understanding as long as you make sure to talk to her about any problems you may be having. Knows her subject and will make the effort to come in early and help if you ask for it. Main downside of the class is that she spends a large portion of a short class talking.

Very strict attendance policy in her classes - miss 3 without a valid excuse and you auto-fail the class. On the plus side, she's enthusiastic about her subject. On the downside, I don't find that she spends much time actually teaching. You have to teach yourself.

Horrible! Made me HATE playing the flute. She almost made me and another student cry. I will never take music at YorkU ever again. She verbally abuses the students, making them feel like crap and completely discourages them from playing. She yells at me because I ask for clarification, and I think because I'm not a Music Major it doesn't help.
