Comment:

Easy class because it's just chorus. Music wasn't bad, but my main problem with Brinson is that she does not care about her students what so ever. It's all about her and in her mind the chorus would be nothing without her which is almost the complete opposite of the truth. Never admits when she is wrong and often cuts down students.

Comment:

Dr. Brinson is one of the most frustrating professors at Fredonia. She is far removed from public school teaching and has little to offer. Brinson expects her students to act as professionals, but still treats them like children. Grading is biased. Also, reiterating an earlier comment, there is quite a lot of "hidden curriculum" in her classroom.

This is a very easy class, however the standard that she sets for the choir as a whole is less than par in my opinion based on the fact that instead of memorizing some of the easier pieces we still have the music in our hands during performances. Furthermore she doesn't emphasize the use of certain dynamics and articulation markings.

Be on time! Focus, pay attention, be prepared and you'll have a lot of fun with this class. She's a sweet funny lady and is a pretty good choir conductor

She is a very sweet lady. As long as you do all of her course work thoroughly and attend class you will do fine. She sometimes contradicts herself, but hey who doesn't? Just make sure to stay on her good side and you'll do fine! I recommend her for Foundations II!

University Chorus. Enjoyable course. As long and you come you get an A. Songs are fun to sing - sometimes she can be intimidating or get angry, but she's a teacher and her job is to teach not to babysit. Good course if you just want to relax and sing songs.

She really wants us to be informed teachers and realize that we are going to have to face different challenges and adapt. She wants us all to succeed but we need to do the work. She does contradict herself at times, but then again she's trying to describe a perfect teacher/environment and there is no such thing.

she is so adorable, lots of fun! i want to keep taking chorus because of her she wants us to sound great. her attendance is mandatory but its the only grade you have. she is very busy with a room of 250 kids but she handles it very well, phenomenal funnest class iv taken yet

Univ. Chorus. All College Chorus back when I took it. When Dr. Lang was director, we performed large masterworks with the WNY Chamber Orchestra (War Requiem). Dr. Brinson changed all that, and IMO unfortunately dumbed it down. Personal preference - I did not enjoy her as director as much as Dr. Lang. Never had her for MUED, but heard great things.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to try to handle a class of 150-200 students who are taking a class for no credit. She does it very well. She always maintains control and tries to interact with the students the best that she can. I enjoyed taking her class. I think that overall, she was a good teacher.

She's a caring teacher, but doesn't always practice what she preaches. There is a LOT of "hidden curriculum." She's very anti-Bush and is extremely forgetful. Quote from the lady herself: "I think I'm in the early stages of Alzheimers"
