I was fairly nervous about this course but Professor Carlson made it great! She was always available outside of class for clarification. She was willing to help guide you when you didn't understand the homework. During the class, she calls on everyone but it's not a big deal if you don't know the answer because she/ the class will help.

The class was very boring, but I think that was mainly due to the subject. She can be harsh to people who aren't doing well in her class. If you're good at learning stuff on your own you'l be fine. But if you need her to clarify something you might be leave connfused.

She likes her subject but can also get lost in her ramblings. Her lectures can be dull but she tries to explain things and wants students to do well. Overall, shes nice but definitely not exciting.

This class is super easy if you keep up with the homework. I don't pay attention at all in class and I have an A. Be warned that she is veery boring and it can be easy to tune out what she is saying. If you would rather be challenged than be bored, don't take her class.

Takes attendance. Sounds like the bird-like teacher from Jimmy Neutron. Confusing material but WAY BETTER than taking a typical math course (for FA perspective).

Attendance is really important to her, and she often calls on the quiet kids. Her lectures are really boring and she's quite condescending, but I don't think it's intentional. She's a nice person, but not such a good professor.

Nice lady, not a great teacher. While it is a tough subject to teach, if you ask a question do not expect it to be clarified well. It is possible to get a good grade if you keep up with the homework (she likes "pop" quizzes. Study groups help. Class gets easier as it goes. Attendance is very important to her without an excuse.

She was a little harsh with the kids who weren't doing well, saying things like "Some of you will fail, so you may want to drop this class," but she was very willing to help those who asked for it. She did offer information clearly and was very understanding about missed classes as long as you did the work.

wow, she is boring as all hell. All she does is give more analogies to show examples from the book. All you have to do to pass is read the book, not even go to class except that she requires it and more than three missed classes means you fail. I pretty much sleep through her class every time except her voice cracks any time she talks. Don't do it

Jeez guys lets go easy on Carlson. She's a nice person and is passionate. I do agree that she treats her students like they are 8 years old but whatever ... it just makes the class easier. Take her if you are looking for an easy A or B.

Wow. Just don't take her classes. Period. Boring, unhelpful, treats you like you are in third grade. Unbearable. If she didn't check attendence, I would never have shown up. And I have no doubts that I would have still gotten the A.

Great way to fulfill your FA. I hate philosophy and I still had no problems in her course. Shes very understanding and likes to involve in debate rather than lecture. No homework outside of reading

Carlson is the only instructor I've had at Clark whom I cannot stand. She should not be teaching--she has no expertise in ANY area, and one would guess she's never even seen the inside of a courtroom. Her tests are the worst-constructed pieces of doody you'd imagine--she's easy, but so easy it's hard
