Godard is a wonderful person yet she is just not great at teaching. one good thing - she dosn't speak down to students yet she cant translate academic rhetoric into something meaningful for students to learn from. expect to do a lots (figuring out)onyour own

this course needed a mandatory pre-requisite - despite some knowledge in feminism, i was usually lost. we reading answers to questions that i didn't even know had been asked. the material is very difficult, but her marking is incredibly easy on you.

I watched her give a paper once to a room full of intellectuals (grad students, profs, etc), and virtually everyone was lost, asleep, or had snuck out. It was loooong and excruciating. My butt was numb by the end of it.

Failed the course the first time I took it but that was my fault. discovered how brilliant she was the second time I took it. Some of the books were a tough read, but the theory studied was mind blowing - time is needed to get into the groove.

Prof Godard is a gem. She is a genuine creative intellectual and a wonderful human being. She is one of my very favorite professors. I loved the texts and novels in both her undergrad courses.
