Comment:
Her notes are completely useless and what she talks about in class is unrelated to what she tests on. Assignments were super easy though. Tests were hard and asked really specific questions. Will lose marks if you bring up anything not covered in class, lost marks on the final for bringing up the health index. Would recommend that you avoid.

Dr. Heather is very knowledgeable about the content of this course. Her notes, however, aren't the best, and the way she sets up her classes is not my favourite (she basically just tells stories for half of each lecture, but they are relevant). Tests aren't easy, but they are fair. Read the textbook and you'll be good to go! Sit in the front!!!

I was appalled that I could not ask a question during the exams. I felt the instructions for assignments and tests were unclear. I would not choose her again. She seems like a nice lady but definitely not someone I like learning from.

40% of the mark was 4 assignments where you had to take a term from a specific chapter and apply it to your own life. Each took max 30 minutes but be careful of spelling and citations, that's where most people lost marks. Legit slept through the midterm and still rocked it. Just memorize the key terms and you'll be fine tbh.

I really liked Dr Heather. As long as you attend class and read the text you can't go wrong. She straight out tells you to follow the syllabus and as long as you answer her questions in full you'll get 100% on the assignments. Definitely recommend.

She is so unbelievably unclear about her expectations, then refuses to help you if you ask for clarification. Avoid at all costs.

Really nice lady, but not a great prof. Quite confusing and her expectations are unclear. The syllabus and assignment outlines were poorly written and hard to understand. Talk about hegemonic masculinity in everything and you'll get an A.

I thought Professor Heather was great. Very personable and sweet. She's a hard marker but she knows her stuff and is quite smart. She's very passionate about gender. Very understanding of human issues, and her class was fairly interesting. We engaged in discussions in class and watched videos which made it interactive. Thought overall she was great

He papers are very confusing and are of a format and style I've never had to use before. Take home exams are awesome as you can think about them and tinker on and off. Other than that she is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic prof who I would recommend if you can get past the papers.

barb is a great prof. she is a hard marker and sometimes unclear. however, she does make time for her students. her final exams have a tendency to be take home and she will give you prep questions for the midterms. I enjoy her. I have taken 3 classes with her

Her assignments are extremely confusing, she doesnt properly clarify what shes looking for. I sent her an e-mail to make sure i was doing the assignment correctly and she barely helped, i ended up with a unsatisfied mark. No point in asking for her help, its like she wants you to do bad. Overall, very disappointed.

Comment:
Barbara is an incredibly nice person, but unfortunately she is misinformed on some more current research (or anything related to biology, which comes up in this course. e.g. she said evolution has obvious flaws and shouldn't be believed, then went on to describe something that isn't the theory of evolution). Her expectations can be very unclear.

She's definitely quirky, and makes the dry material we had to work with very interesting. Led many class discussions, but joining in verbally was not mandatory. Watched lots of films. Just read the text and her projector notes and you will do well. Very engaging, and definitely shows passion for the subject. Assignments are easy but a bit vague.

Her assignments are rather ambiguous and she does not give much direction. Her multiple choice questions are a little unclear, but you get used to what answers she likes. Overall she is a nice lady and is very passionate in her subject. She's a big feminist so if you are not, steer clear.

First impression she may look like a strict old lady, but she isn't.I took an inequality class with her, and it was amazing. The midterm was very staright forward, the paper was choose your own topic which was great, and no final, just another paper explaining any concept from the course! She is so lovely, take a course with her you will enjoy it!

She was one of the nicest profs I've ever had! The midterms and final are fairly easy, and she makes class interesting by having lots of discussion. My favorite part was that she was able to teach the class objectively, while sometimes expressing her opinion.

To be Honest she was a decent prof. Yes she was helpful at times but would not explain our assignments clearly and tell us to look at our syllabus which honestly didn't help much. She had a very strong female wing opinion on everything. If your a girl i would take her as my prof. As a male i would keep looking.
