The midterm and final are really difficult. There is a 5 minute video project. The class is hard for an intro class and requires a lot of work. There is a lot of material. She gives an outline for the exams which helps, but they are still very hard.

Would recommend to everyone. She brings the text to life and shares her expansive knowledge of art history with her class. Must take good notes in class if you don't want to read the text but expect pop quizzes (don't count for much in grade). Final video project was time consuming, make sure to meet w her before hand to get your thesis approved

Dr. Mundy is super-awesome! Because her class was only 1-credit, reading wasn't too top-heavy. Her lectures are interesting and creative, and she effectively engages student opinions throughout.

Comment:

For an intro class, this is horribly overwhelming. Professor Mundy isn't too bad, actually pretty nice. BUT, the tests are extremely demanding (memorizing dateslocationscultures of over 50 pieces) and the assignments are difficult (5 min video final, harder than it sounds) and not graded easily at all. Would avoid, definitely a GPA killer.

She is a weirdo and just doesn't get it... She picks on some students and will call you out. Try and kiss her ass by participating; it'll help you in the long run because her tests are hard enough. You have to read a lot for this class. Let her know your dedication because that will help when she is grading your papers. Overall, I would avoid her.

Lots of surprise quizzes. "Warm-up" essays at the beginning of class. Long lectures. Dense reading material. Presentations. A video presentation. Getting picked on for answers if you don't have your hand raised. It's an intro class but you're working as if it's your destiny. Not a good experience if you're not already knowledgeable about art.

This woman is unfriendly. Whenever an International student asks a questions, she outfights ignores them and seems to do everything in her power to avoid dealing with them or communicating with them. If you're working with an international student, she will not talk to you even if you're the only one raising a hand. AVOID HER!

I want to tear my hair out in this class. If you disagree with her, be prepared to be graded harder and do worse in class. Lectures are boring, she clearly has a distaste for dealing with international students, and gives no indication of how to pass. If you cite something, using Chicago, which she said is fine, you won't get credit. Only MLA.

I had this professor many years ago as an undergrad for Intro to AH. She was very knowledgable but unfriendly & opinionated. She doesn't understand sophisticated writing (in English) from students. I know this because I'm a writer and she had trouble reading my papers & asked me to get "help" writing, which was absurd. Hopefully she's improved.

Not the easiest professor- you definitely have to work for your grade! Definitely study for all quizzes/exams because they require a lot of memorization. However, she is very knowledgeable and I found the class very interesting and worth my time. If you're willing to do the readings, actually study, and participate in class you'll do well!

Definitely avoid her. Quizzes and tests are ridiculously hard. She expects you to remember so many minute details. If she picks you as her favorite you'll do well, if not then you have no hope. All you'll be able to take from this class is a few pointless details of about 50 works of art. She doesn't teach anything of importance. Take someone else!

LOVED HER. I went in the class thinking she'd be horribly tough, and I found the class very manageable. She stays super organized so if you go to class, you always know where you are. Just attend class, and pay attention the the works she talks about, because those are the ones she tests.

Not going to lie. Her class is hard. She's very demanding and a hard grader too. You really have to follow along with what she's teaching or you'll just be completely lost. I have had Mundy for two semesters in a row now, for both Modern Latin American Art and Native American Art. She is very knowledgeable about what she teaches, and I enjoyed her classes a lot, but she is an EXTREMELY demanding grader. If all you are looking for is an easy A, don't take her.

Come on ppl, Mundy is not easy and she tells that shes gonna be demanding the very first day of class. She is very knowledgeable and knows her subject, if you come to office hours to ask for help with paper or anything she will help! Kinda Hot too! :)
