Comment:

Solomon is a really nice lady and understanding. In order to pass the class you have to read the book assigned for that week or she will embarrass you for not having read the material. However, if you come out clean to her that you haven't read the book yet, she will be very nice with you about it.

Boring, boring, boring. She assigns a question for each row of the class to answer, and you literally wait for your turn to speak, and then you wait for class to end. Sort of a tough grader. She is, however, clear in teaching. Listen to her, and take notes, and you have all the answers you need for the midterm and final.

She is extremely judgmental and can be very nasty/mean. Treats her students like they are inferior and still in high school. Try to avoid getting her if you. Once you are on her bad side (which is not hard to get to), you're pretty much out of luck and she will treat you harshly.. assigns a lot of reading too. But just overall a MEAN lady.

Sweet lady who is very helpful if you go to her office hours. Only 1 paper (graded entirely on writing style [¬ content which she denies]), and the final. Thurs nights were not a good choice for night class. You can pick to have a break or leave early. Good books but beware- its her opinion or you are dead wrong.i wont take her class again.

She is an interesting teacher who brings up good points and chooses good books for the reading. But the reading can get a little overwhelming, 100+ pages due per week. There is a 10 page midterm paper which she grades fairly tough, particularily on writing style. The rest of the class grade is the final. Its a solid class, you work and learn.

Nice as a person, horrible as a teacher. Sat in a circle and discussed the worst selection in books. Is an editor so even if you are an exceptional writer expect a lot of red marks and mediocre grades. i do not recommend this class.

This professor is very good. She is very sweet and makes interesting points. I thought the books would be boring but they were surprisingly enjoyable. She is an easy grader and only gives a paper and a final and a few minor assignments that you have the whole semester to prepare for. Take this course and you won't be sorry.

Pure misery. Every class goes right untill the end of the period and teaches the same useless concepts every day. I am (was) in her night class which was a lot like sticking a needle in my own iris. If you are looking for an easy grade (which ALL basic english classes should be) stay as far away from this woman as possible. Do yourself a favor.
