Barry was wonderfully enthusiastic about his work and was really passionate about getting us to learn. However, he was unclear when grading, unclear when asking you what he wanted from you, and was completely unorganized. His emails were sloppy, misspelled, and he often misinterpreted submitted work. Overall, not worth it to take his class.

I took his online class and i have never been more disappointed I have wasted my time and money, and i cant stress enough to other not to take this class. His response to my emails are misspelled and sloppy, and when grading my assignments I have no idea what he is looking for and he doesn't explain. Pathetic prof

This man genuinely cares about what he teaches and was one of the few positive experiences I had at this university. Don't skip class and don't come in expecting to just sit in the background half asleep. Very enthusiastic and teaches intangible and tangible skills and life lessons and reasonable critique of the world around us

Barry is the first english professor I have been taught by who inspires me to be a better reader, writer, and person in general. He gives every student the opportunities to write freely and explore their own writing and reading identity. I have become a confident and alert critical thinker and writer in his class.

He is an amazing professor!! Probably one of the best, most influential professors I have ever had at Acadia. He treats you like an equal not a number or another student. He takes the time to get to know you and what you want to learn. His teaching style is very unique as he sits in the middle of the room just like us students do. He's amazing!

Barry is full of hillarious conversations and awkward moments. He'll keep you on your toes - no dozing off in this class! His classes are generally very small ( 20 people or so) and are just big discussions most of the time. He'll go out of his way to teach topics that interest the class members. Intimidating at first but you'll get used to him!

Dr. Fox has a unique way of teaching which takes a few classes to get used to. However, as soon as you got to know him a little better, you'll love and appreciate his way of teaching. He covers a wide array of texts and is always open to new ideas and concepts. Discussions in his course are intriguing and fun. Really a great professor!
