This professor is incredible. He truly cares about his students and wants them to learn the course material. His tests are similar to the practice tests he posts. The homework and associated lab really help solidify what is taught in lecture.

Hoewaork is assigned and due every day. That gets really old. Subject is interesting, Barry is a great professor. If you don't like his teaching style then you may not like him. Most of the negative reviews come from people who are willing to invest the time to get a good grade. Work hard, do well.

Dr. Horrowitz is very knowledgeable in the many different subjects he teaches. He is willing to bend over backwards to help students. He is extremely fair, although difficult. The negative reviews come from typical 'I'm smarter than everyone else' kid asking "questions" to show how much he already knows about the given subject. Patheticville.

I found Barry very unhelpful. Went to his office once for an explanations and I felt like an Idiot. His lectures are VERY BORING because he always uses overhead slides. I kept falling asleep even if I took a nap b/f class. Make sure you work w/ someone if you do not understand the material. Lecture notes don't help when it comes to homework.

Going to class is pointless. I went maybe 5 times. Don't ask him questions because he simply won't answer them. Asked him a question about a matrix keypad once and he told me to act like he was a matrix keypad and tell him the question meaning he had no idea what the hell i was talking about. Learned alot but not from him.

I mean when I say that this is the best teacher I have had yet. Never once has he made someone look stupid in class for asking a question (no matter how dumb it is), and always gives a good answer. Has been there to help me whenever i need it. If you dont learn from this man then you should quit school. I hope he stays for a long time.

If you don 't learn from Horowitz, it's your own damned fault. This man has more passion than any other faculty member I know. He's extremely intelligent, insightful, and helpful. Likeley the best faculty member on the staff. In my opinion, the man is extrememly under appreciated for his commitment to his students.

Didn't move too quickly, but also didn't drag out commentary too long. Did a very good job at making a rather difficult and sometimes cumbersome subject understandable both in clarity of lecture and the structure of the class objectives.
