Comment:

Rather than spending lectures on mastering the basics of each concept, Ralston and Tyler expect you to teach yourself the basics and spend class time on advanced examples which require mastery of the basics to know. The worst thing is that every Tuesday you're required to take not 1 , but 2 tests in 90 minutes. You rarely have enough time.

The most caring teacher I've ever had. Cares for all of her students. If you ever feel like you're lost really don't be scared to go up to her and talk and even go to her office hours. She will take care of you seriously. DE is pretty miserable but a nice teacher like this makes up for it

Extremely mixed emotions. You can tell she knows what she's talking about and what she's doing, but is stuck up and holier than thou because of it. In terms of notes, you never have to question if she's confused or getting problems correct. The class is well-developed, but she doesn't like to answer questions. Hard to relate to, but not terrible.

Dr. Ralston has the potential to be a decent professor, but has fallen short every opportunity. Her inconsistent scheduling, frequent cancellations, late grading, volatile due dates, and strong political/sociological bias make this the one professor at Covenant I would never take again.

Class is a weedout class. They move very fast and it's hard to keep up. Have to teach yourself most of the material. Stuck up and not very helpful. Better off taking somebody else even though Tyler writes the tests.

I can't really put my mixed feelings into words. The curriculum and expectations are so impossible at times that I want to just hate the entirety of Speed school. At the same time the insanity pushed me to achieve new academic levels with 4 semesters on Deans list so far. But to be honest, this style of education should be illegal and changed ASAP.

Her pairing with Dr. Tyler is amazing and makes for many amusing stories in class. Class is very difficult though, with exams every week. However, with hard work it is doable.

Its very clear that her and Dr. Tyler know the material well and have worked together for a long time. She can come off as a little intense but shes just very serious about the class. you'll have a test and an exam every Tu and Thu, but do the homework and use the practice exams and youll be ok. And if you go to class you get 10 bonus on the exam

Ralston is one of the sweetest people I have met. If you have any problems, she'll be glad to help. If you ever need to meet her, just e-mail her and she'll set aside whatever time to help you out. Love her to death. This course was difficult. You need to understand why things work the way they do and research the material outside class to do well.

Expects a lot. Fast-paced. Strict & businesslike in class, friendly & accommodating 1-on-1. Works very hard & cares about students. Can at times overreact. Took 4 classes under her & worked as a grader for her classes for 3 years after, & I have immense respect for her. Work hard in her class--it will impact the rest of your Speed School experience

Dr. Ralston is a very nice lady who knows her calculus. Very helpful but goes very fast in the lectures and can be hard to keep up with especially when you are unfamiliar with the content that is being gone over. I'll be taking ENGR 201 with Dr. Ralston and Dr. Tyler in the summer.

She does a better job at teaching the material than her counterpart but still makes Calculus not an enjoyable subject. Had math before and what the speed school is teaching isn't math it is more of can you copy what I showed you. IF you want a real math course go to a different school

I had Dr. Ralston for ENGR 101, 102, 201 and Differential Equations. She is a great teacher that is very passionate about her job. She is also very nice. I missed a test once and went to her office, she was extremely understanding and considerate. She is one of Speed School's best professors!
