Comment:
Extremely smart guy but lacks social skills. He's very quirky and every now and then cracks an oddly funny joke or tells the class the story of when he got his first calculator. When marking assignments, he can be rude and say things like "Major Goof!" or "This does not make sense" or even "What were you thinking?". However, very helpful when asked

Barry Monson was an incredible linear algebra professor. His understanding of mathematics will blow your mind, and he is extremely good at giving real life applications to all concepts learned in class. Often he will crack a joke, and he has one of the most interesting vocabularies I've heard. All around, incredible prof!

Enriched 1st year calc. Always liked how he had a well-defined lesson plan at all times, though he did get distracted from it at times. It's a bit subdued, but once you get to know him his personality will show through his apparent dullness. Could really pique your interest in math problem-solving with extra-tricky bonus problems and the like.

Good prof, one of the smartest people I've ever met. Does a decent job of teaching the course material. His voice has a tendency to lull you to sleep but staying awake and paying attention can be very helpful.

Definitely one of the better math professors, mainly because he instructs in a very clear and orderly way, rather than in a haphazard mad scientist way like some of his colleagues. He's also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the history of math.

Boring as I don't know what, socially awkward, prone to going on tangents, but still a great prof. Don't be discouraged by the early concepts as they are off the wall, this course is easy if you can stay awake and listen to Monson.

Monson explains material well, but has a tendancy to go off on tangents (sorry, bad pun!) to give you extra information, redundant to the class, but interesting nonetheless. Very approachable, will help out on assignment questions until you understand what you're missing.

Taught first year calculus. Went off on tangents pretty often, didn't work so well. Did not learn everything that was on the final exam.
