Amazing professor. I wasn't looking forward to Brit Lit, but it turned out to be my favorite class this semester because Woodcox is amazing. Great lectures. Loves when students speak up. 1 group presentation. Somewhat hard grader, pushes you to improve and do well. Sign in sheet, required attendance.

Dr. Woodcox is a really awesome guy, but this class wasn't too interesting. There aren't hardly any papers, just a midterm and final paper. He does daily readings and sometimes journals, and about one more assignment. Discussions are usually kind of flat but Woodcox is really funny and interesting. A really good, low pressure class.

I wasn't looking forward to this class initially, but Woodcox is an incredible professor. He gives great lectures and encourages you speak up to get a better understanding of the literature.

Great professor but he doesn't give a lot of feedback on assignments. Work and you'll get the grade you need, but be prepared to suffer through a lot of really long, pretty boring readings before it's all over. Go to class. The discussions and lectures are helpful. Do the extra credit. You'll need it. He is very funny and welcoming though :)

I really thought that 18th century British Literature would be so boring, but he made it so interesting. He was insightful and funny and really wanted to make sure that the students understood the topics. I highly recommend taking a class taught by him.

Great professor. Knows his stuff, wants his students to learn and is very enthusiastic. Can get off-topic or ramble a bit sometimes, but it's kinda entertaining. He's VERY VERY particular about following his instructions to the letter, so pay close attention to that. He'll work with you to get you the grade you want- just put in the work.

Extremely intelligent guy with a great sense of humor. Has clear and reasonable expectations, and you could get by with skimming some (not all) of the rather long readings. Only thing I didn't like was the group presentations; I greatly preferred his lectures. His class wasn't a walk in the park though. Awesome guy!

No wonder Woodcox is the english department chair. He is absolutely brilliant and always has insightful comments on literature analysis. I would definitely recommend taking ANY of his classes, even if you're not an English major. You do have to write/read quite a bit though. He also tries really hard to know everyone's name, and is super friendly.

I took Film Form & Sense completely for fun and it was so worth it. Dr. Woodcox is extremely brilliant and a great teacher too. You watch a movie every week in class & there is quite a bit of writing and group projects, so you will be kind of busy, but not unmanageably. It is very worth it for the good movies and things you never knew about cinema!

So smart he can be intimidating. Though, makes up for it by being very personable and funny. If you do the readings, go to class, and participate you'll do well. You have to work hard to get an A, but it's possible. Discussions went well and he often said fascinating stuff without dominating a topic.

We had a lot of days taken up by student presentations, which is a shame, because few to no students can hold a candle to this man's genius. Typical scenario: two students go on and on and on about some obscure topic in Victorian lit. Then Dr. Woodcox says two sentences that sum up more than the two students said in a half hour. Great professor.

A better professor simply does not exist. There aren't enough high praises on earth to explain the magic that is Cole Woodcox. He's the most intelligent man I've ever met- but he's also the nicest and most understanding. A better human being isn't in exsistance.
