He seemed like a kind person but his lectures were boring and dry. He graded very hard and gave little feedback on papers, it never felt like mt grade was justified but his comments. His lectures are a waste of time, if you do take a class from him I suggest getting other work done during his class, otherwise it feels like such a waste of time.

Barry is a really nice guy, but his lectures are pretty bland. He is a pretty tough grader so you'll definitely have to work for a good mark. But he does give good feedback on how to earn a better mark. No midterm, just a final and two papers.

Terrible Prof, pulls his essay marks out of his ass you can work very hard and hand in a great essay and then type one out the day before and you will get the exact same mark. Extremely boring and monotone. Worst prof I've had in university

Good prof, but marks quite hard on the essays. He is a really nice person and easy to approach. He is willing to help with anything you need. I do not like English in general so it was quite boring for me, but he did a very good job of teaching the class.

This was one of my favorite English professors. He marks fairly. He gives wonderful feed back. The class itself was quite interesting - completely on Shakespeare. The final exam was long - consisting of three specific essay questions, so knowing all the literature in depth is essential. The freedom of learning online was ideal for this class.

Barry Popowich was my favourite prof in my first year. He broke down material well and was clear about what he expected. He was also very helpful with any questions, even those regarding other classes. He was very efficient at marking and gave good feedback. Overall a good guy.

I liked the class but it was hard for me to attend the classes (even thought it's mandatory) Because I was getting more stuff out of the books and poems then he was. If attendance wasn't mandatory I would probably never show and just write the essays, He is very funny and really nice. Also super helpful!

Great Prof! He is interested in what he does which makes the class more enjoyable. 4 essays and grades fairly easy. Recommended to go to class, he breaks down every reading very clearly. Final was alot of writing but that is expected on a english final. He is very willing to answer any questions you may have.Highly recommend this prof!

Hard to mark English profs as it depends on how they mark you. Every single mark I received was within 4% of each other. Very interesting lectures. Easy to listen to. Has many tangents that promote ideas for papers. Responded quickly to my inquiries by e-mail. Marks surprisingly quick.

he is such a jerk! he marks so hard and cant give you a reason why you got such a low mark. he just gives you excuses. he sucks at teaching and is super boring to listen to! I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS GUY AT ALL!!!

Great Professor, I thoroughly enjoyed his ENG 110 class in my first year. Yes, he talks alot but it's often relevant to things needed for essays (to hand in, for the mid term, and the final). If you attend all lectures, read the literature, and take notes you will have no problem with this class.

This guy definitely knows his stuff! I find he keeps things interesting and he doesn't go off on tangents which aren't related to what we're reading. He's respectful to students and open to questions. No problems whatsoever with him.
