A very kind, knowledgeable man. Had trouble hearing and understanding so I just sat near the front! Very funny and he just seems very sweet, you feel comfortable approaching him. A bit overheard heavy (lots of writing), but you end up with good notes. Will be taking more with Riddell in the future for sure.

Riddell is my absolute favorite prof @ Queens, he cares a lot about his students, is totally committed to his work, and seems to have a never ending wealth of knowledge regarding development and geography. For anyone who complains about his speak clairty,get over it! He has a disability; that cant be helped, besides you get used to it so quickly!

This prof is great. He is amazingly nice and helps students out a lot (especially with deadlines). He has amazing stories of his time in Africa and loves to share them in class. Very interesting, very helpful and very nice! Great Prof!

A good professor, but heavy on the overheads. For those who do not like him because of something that is out of his control (his speech)- shut up and try listening in class รข€" its disgraceful way to judge a really nice guy.

I really like the prof and class, the only problem was that he talks quietly and for some reason they put us in a room in Mac-Corry that is in the middle of the main halls by the caf so it was too loud! class was interesting and really liked the prof though!

I'm an engineer that got 90% overall in first year, and I got 71 on the midterm for this course. You be the judge as for how easy it is. Somehow I don't see my marks getting much better in this. Pretty much everything in exams is from lectures and nothing from text. No full marks.
