Basil Burgess really broke the lower limit of the level as a teacher. I wish I can rate him negative 5 if possible However the lowest rating is just one. Even you meet all the requirement, you will be only graded as 90%. In order words, There is no way you can get 100% because the roof is 90%. I strongly recommend you avoiding him at all cost.

Terrible prof. Avoid at all costs. All he does is talk about irrelevant things, he yells at you if go on your phone, and when you ask a question in class he either doesnt understand what your'e asking or he gives a rude/sarcastic answer. Good luck emailing him questions, he'll respond sarcastically or rudely, so you're basically on your own.

be there on time or you will get lost. tests and exams are mostly what he says not what the book or slides say. the project is like 20% group no individuals and it will take you around 7-9 hrs if you know what you are doing . got 72% this class

Worst professor I have had till date. Doesn't evaluate assignments so you don't know where you stand. Very rude to everyone. Can not ask him any question. He doesn't know what he is teaching too!! You never want to ever be in his class.. On top of all this, he is extremely boring.

He's a nice guy, but as a prof, lots of improvement needed. He used to be good but his age has caught up with him. I'd say he's good at database, but other stuff, no. He gives way too many useless assignments and never returns them until AFTER the midterm exam or final. Doesn't help because you don't know exactly where you went wrong. I'd say avoid

Basil combines an inability to teach with a condescending, insulting attitude towards his students. If you enjoy getting orders barked at you, 40+ page densely packed powerpoints PER CLASS, and being treated like a subhuman, by all means enroll in his class. The bitterness and negativity he carries will saturate you like an ominous raincloud.

I got a good 15% lower in this class than any of my other classes, through no fault of my own. Everything he says is ambiguous and equivocal. Expectations aren't clear. Doesn't know the answers to his own reviews. Tests were more about trying to get into his head than applying your knowledge. Questions were mostly meaningless trivia. Avoid.

He is not helpful at all. He will never repeat himself. He will always expects students to know how to do everything, even things he never taught. He can be rude sometimes. Stay away and find another prof. Its time for him to retire.
