Poorly designed. Students confused and ask for more steps to be shown. Tricky instructions, skipped pages, few details of test. No instructions how to use MATLAB for problems. 3 items due last day. Quiz questions same on retake. Quizzes have interrelated questions. Allows no digital notes 4 final. Formulas buried in confusing book. BB grade wrong.

He is a good CSE professor. He knows what he talking and always trying to explain the materials thoroughly for the students. He allows cheat sheet for exams, so it is not so bad. Exams are easy.

Lectures online are super helpful and easy to follow. Great for reviewing. 6 online quizzes, pretty easy (open-note); 6 homeworks, and a lab due every week (filling out a template). The textbook can be found online, used it only for hw. The midterm was easy (similar to practice), and the final was easier (online multiple choice and written).

Professor Matar is one of the best teacher that I have had at ASU. I really enjoyed coming to the class every time we met. I think other professor can learn from his teaching style.

Although this is a 100 level course its a CSE EEE course so expect it to be hard, but if you come to class and pay attention with Matar this class is hard to fail. He is very good at explaining the concepts then applying them to practice problems. The last simulation lab is a 3% bonus in the class which is a lot. Long homework every 2-3 weeks.

Professor Bassam is a decent person but he shouldnt be a prof-- not inspiring, reads off powerpoint, expects the students to know the material beforehand, slightly condescending, and overall tiring. I get tired from this class. It's one of those classes where you dread going to because of all the work. Too much work for a 100 class.

This should not be a 100 level course. Tons of work, material is extremely challenging if you do not have fundamentals down, so I suggest you know basics of digital logic prior to class. The class makes you question your major. Also, ton of homework, quizzes, labs, and overall just draining. Expect to teach yourself through online lectures. Avoid.

I said I'd take him again but that's a BIG maybe. The course I took was online and was pretty tough. He was a little impulsive from what I've noticed. Pay attention in class. Colored pens helped me ALOT with this course. I'm just really glad the class is over.

Amazing teacher! Loved his class and so happy I got to learn from him. He is really easy to talk to and loves helping students understand. All lectures are online and he has great resources to follow if you didn't get the concepts in class.

Wonderful teacher. Lots of material but he explains it well. Makes video lectures for extra help/lazy students. Midterm/final are very easy if you understand the concepts and reviews. The homework assignments and labs are annoying and plentiful (for CSE 120) but he will help if asked. Offers extra credit opportunities, easy A if you do the work.

Best engineering teacher i had ever, his very funny , friendly and have very good teaching skill. He presents the lecture materials via PowerPoint and follow with a lot of interactive practice problems. Expect a group quiz for every homework. Good teaching style. I think other engineering professor can learn from his style of teaching.

Not the best professor. Always rushes lectures and problems. His exams and weekly quizzes are extremely tricky. Horrible multiple choice exams with no partial credit. Exams don't reflect the material taught. Typical Mediocre asu engineering faculty. Doesn't care about his students, just teaches fast by powerpoint and get out of the lecture.

Took EEE120 online, extra credit on almost everything and doable quizzes. I'm not a CSE major so I really dread some aspects of this class but it usually makes complete sense after I finish the lab's each week. Which by the way the labs are handhold up until the last one so don't be overly concerned.

I've taken Matar for both CSE 120 and EEE 202. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to any would be engineer. You'll go through the material in depth and if you show up to the lecture the classes are both manageable. I did take both diffeq and E&M before 202 so your mileage may vary.

Professor Matar is AWESOME. The best CSE 120 here at ASU. Quizzes are online and open book. Sim Labs and Hardware Labs are not tough and you are allowed to work with others. Homework is provided on a sheet with some questions out of the book, which can easily be found for free on a PDF using google. Professor Matar cares about students 100%
