Prof. McRee is awesome... with a few caveats. His personality is amazing, it was a small class and we really established a rapport. I've had three classes with him and this was the best. But his grading can be really arbitrary. This is an easy B but if you want an A you really have to work for it. Very available outside of class. I recommend him.

Okay, can we just talk about how AWESOME Professor McRee is? He loves Monks, Roads in Tudor-Stuart England, and Histiography. He should teach every European History course the department offers. Going to class just makes me so freakin' happy because he's everything you think of when you think of a History Professor.

He's a really nice guy and is totally into the subject. His lectures tend to drag, but most of the information in them is important and will come up again in tests and quizes. Easy B, but you have to work for an A. Very helpful if you go to see him about papers, which you should because they're a lot of your grade.

Ok, McRee is just a certified Gangster. Let's be honest, what other professor rocks ice on his waist. I've spent every class this year looking at that chain and wondering what he keeps at the other end: is it his gat? his 'prince albert'? or just a pocket watch? He doesn't show us in order to perpetuate the aura of mystery. A truly great man.

NIce guy but very boring class. Class discussions were unmotivating, never came up with thought provoking questions. Memos were a joke, he couldnt even come up with his own questions, and hardly ever gave more than a B. I DO NOT recommend this class, huge waste of time, and i took nothing away from it.

quizzes are very easy. memos are ridiculous. he won't be able to explain why you got anything less than an A on a memo - you just did. Even though memos are 30% of your grade....whatever you get on memos will be your grade. he takes them way too seriously - boring teaching style, not very interactive, does the same thing every class

Mcree is a nice guy and loves the middle ages. His classes are not very dynamic and run long it seems, very boring at times. He tries to interest the students sometimes with his good personailty but it isn't enough at times. It's an easy B,,Hard A

He is an extremely nice guy and a great person, but as a teacher he is only fair. The class tends to drag-- a lot. I do not think he was an easy grader, I participated in class and did all the readings and would still get B's on the memos. It is extremely difficult to get an A.

easy grader. I hardly did any of the readings and got a/a- on the memos. Talk in class a lot and ask questions and you'll do fine. Lots of group work, so if you dont read anything, you can pick stuff up from the group.
