Comment:

One of the toughest accounting classes I've taken. He promises to give extra points towards final grade if you do what he says (projects and joining the NYSSCPA) but he never fulfilled his promise. No extra points were given. In addition, he only reviews 2 problems per class, ALWAYS LATE to class, and he NEVER responds to emails. AVOID him!

He is a nice friendly guy and always willing to help. However his tests are hard and time-consuming. I had a proper review and i still did poorly in his midterm. Luckily I did well in his finals therefore my overall grade is not that bad. Has two grading policies. Give opporunity to earn extra points. He is very kind but just too old to teach

Late to class.. goes over 2 problems every class.. grading policy has flaws (unequal percentages given if final is higher than midterm). Tests are hard and reflect little of what is taught in class.. I recommend other professors at Pace.

Nice Guy but teaches you nothing. you are better off learning from the textbook than going to class. Class consists of doing a homework problem for 2 hrs. AVOID IF ACCOUNTING IS YOUR MAJOR

He shows a genuine interest for his students and knows the material at hand. He can be a bit clueless at times; he once walked in and asked what class he was teaching mid-session. He does not curve, and the grade you get is the grade you earn. I would not recommend him if you are not an acc. major.

He makes jokes that some people may not find funny, but it does pass the time. I never watch the clock when in his lectures. He gave extra credit points for subscribing to the WSJ and having materials. He doesnt curve grades, whatever grade you earn is the grade you get. Overall helpful and highly recommended.

This guy is like 60 but he has the funnies jokes lol.. Audit is kind boring but this class is fun tha professor is funny.. He gives 2 extra credits for +10 on your grade and if you bomb the midterm your final can be 80% of your grade if you want.. i think he's a good teacher!!

TURN AROUND AND RUN!!! very useless. only get the cpa review book because that is where all the test question come from. other 2 book just go to the library and use it to copy the summery for his HW. totally useless. he test what he dose not cover. run away if you can, but for those who have to take him buy the CPA review book only and practice.

Very good professor for Audit, the MC on the tests are from the CPA review book, and essays you just got to study the right stuff. He gives a lot of extra credit so B+ to A is very attainable. Other than that he is scenial so he will rarely remember you. Have someone sign you into class if you dont want to go.

gives you extra bonus points for having a notebook, getting the textbook and taking notes.. i took this class in the summer, i learned more from him then my previous accounting teacher. if you are not good at accounting, take him. you WONT fail his class.

Nice man but HORRIBLE teacher. I walked away from that class learning nothing. Gave out freebie points on my midterm so I got a decent grade but the final really killed me. If you score higher on the final than the midterm, it is worth 80 percent of your grade! If not its 50/40 between a final and the midterm. Newman needs to retire ASAP.

Let's just say. His class is easy but not his exams. Especially the final was hard. This is not a class you can just fly away with an A but if you study hard enough and take good notes you might get an OK grade. I did work my ass off for this class but the grade I get was just good enough. SO WARNING: YOU GOT TO STUDY TO GET THE GOOD GRADE!!!

Awesome Man! 15 extra credit pts added to final grade! 5pts for getting supplies, copying notes=10pts for midterm & final. Just STUDY for your exams. If you can't even get at least an A- in this class then YOu don't deserve to be in the business field. Just read the BOOK and PAY ATTENTION in class. He's the only professor that will CURVE this much!

he makes you do homeworks, sign up for the wall street journal, hand in notes all for bonus points. If you hand in everything there's no way you can fail his class even if you do horrible on his exams. Just DO THE STUFF HE ASKS YOU TO HAND IN and you don't have to worry about the exams so much. You'll def pass.

teaches very slowly. gets off on unnecessary tangents which are irrelevant to accounting. he's class is boring as ever, but i don't see how you'd get anything lower than a B average. if you don't mind sitting through boring, slow moving lectures: take him.
