As an accounting major, Beth Kern was amazing. I learned so much from her. She thoroughly knows the material and genuinely wants you to understand. She even helped me land a summer internship. She explains everything very clearly but it is a lot of material. Pay attention and take good notes.

Comment:

To be honest Beth Kern is possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. If you take her as a professor do not expect to be taught. You are expected to watch videos and teach yourself. Then just go over examples in class with nearly no help. This can be a fine method but the videos are such low quality and do not explain well. Two big thumbs down.

Quizzes and homework are done online, which she curves to a 10/10 even if you get a 5/10. Lectures are given ahead of time online and she records lectures. Tests are straight forward. Very easy class, reccommend highly.

I like professor Kern. I was already pretty knowledgeable in the class, but anything I didn't understand she would go back and go slow to help me understand the material. She wants you to succeed as much as you want to! Take her if you can.

Comment:

Very helpful and clear in her teaching methods. She made her expectations very clear and the homework was really helpful in preparing for the tests. Also let us drop our lowest test score, so I was able to skip the final and still get an A in the class. I wish she would teach other upper accounting classes, I would definitely take her again!

Highly recommend her to people! She cares about her classes. No matter what size (I was in a huge lecture hall) she treats it like it's a small class. What she explains in class in great detail is what is on the test. The hmwks are mandatory but not too difficult if you follow along in class.

The stuff we did in class was not very helpful, and the home works were long and hard. As were the tests but this class is not impossible to pass as long as you try I got an A-.

Prof. Kern explains topics as you are a first grader, everything in "baby steps". Homeworks are long & easy, but the exams tend to be a little hard. If you don't understand the work, you won't do that well on your exam. She gives loads of extra credit, which really helps. Over all one of the best, & if you take A201, I recommend her & only her....

Great prof! Takes time to make in-class exercises that make criteria very easy to understand. She also has optional study sessions for each exam that really help. You can tell she really wants students to understand material. Take her if u can.

This content area wasn't my cup of tea but she tried to make it understandable for me. I found the exams to be quite difficult. I scored less than a 70% on all three of them but the homework assignments, the semester project, and class attendance/participation grades allowed me to get a C+. She does have review sessions before each of the exams.

Very nice lady, wants all students to succeed. Her jokes, and attempts to keep the class interesting weren't very good. Not a funny lady. It's accounting, she's gonna have to try harder to keep me coming to class everyday.

Sometimes it seems like she could teach third graders and do a great job, but she is funny, nice, and helpful. I really understood the material after her class, and if there was something that I didn't understand, she was always willing to help. Very good prof.
