She's my favorite teacher ever. She looks past the triviality of grades, assignments, homework, etcetera, and is really looking to see that you're participating and understanding the material. Because of her and this class, I'm going to be a sociologypublic health major!

I immediately fell in love with her Power, Privilege and Inequality class. She's phenomenally well-versed in her field and knows how to facilitate intellectual discussions very well. I will say that the reading can be a lot at times, but like with most things, time management is important! It's definitely one of my favorite classes!

Great class and a great professor. The discussions actually make you think and can be applied inside as well as outside the classroom. Not so much an easy grader but not a very hard grader either. Would recommend her class highly and take another one with her again.

Awesome class, awesome professor. Makes you actually think. Sometimes the assignments were a bit "elementary school" but they were still useful. Cares deeply about her students, her discipline, and her community.

The class isn't overly easy, but it is mostly discussion so the reading is very important. She gives a lot of opportunity to get participation points for outside assignments (can be VERY helpful to have those at the end of the semester). A paper on the assigned book and a class presentation are the major assignments in the class.

This class was interesting and almost never boring. It is almost entirely discussion based so it is important to do the readings. The essays are really easy and she is a pretty lenient grader.

Absolutely brilliant! Inequalities race class and ethnicity is an eye-opening course and should be a univ. requirement. papers aren't that bad, there are only about 4, theyre short and based on very interesting readings. class is completely discussion based. she's a great resource for minority students! her door is always open if youre feeling overw

I had two classes w/Prof. Dickerson. She demands a ton of lengthy papers, in which the bulk of the students add "fluff" to meet length requirements. Her TA's do all the grading of papers, and she doesn't actually even glance at them. On more than one occasion I asked her about a certain item in a paper I wrote, and she had no recollection of it.

This class was an absolute waste of my life and money. We were into the 8th week of class and still going over the syllabus because it was so unclear. There wasn't a lot of work, so that was a plus, but we had in class activities that seemed to be a waste of time. I wouldn't take it unless it is required for your major/minor.

I had Dr. ****erson for Inequality in Race, Class, and Ethnicity. She is very nice, knowledgeable, and experienced. She uses the grad student TA a lot for grading and extra help for students. Not much work, easy grader if you do exactly what she wants, takes attendance. Warning: she is communist/socialist and tends to force her views on students!

Dickerson holds dearly the thoughts and theories of socialism and communism. If you're a functionalist, which you'll learn about in class, than her weak attempts at being unbiased will cause you to struggle. However, she is a very good teacher, and helps you understand exactly what you feel, and where you're coming from.

Ugh, inequality in race, class, and ethnicity was a waste of life. Too many papers, doesn't grade them in a timely fashion, and you won't learn much. A lot of insipid class discussion without any concrete lecture.
