Class itself is an easy A, but she's unorganized, & unclear. She treats you like youre a 2nd grader, & has absolutely no assessments other than tests and quizzes. You must write down word for word what she says (her definitions and her examples ONLY) or else you will not get credit, regardless of accuracy. All about memorization, not comprehension.

Don't buy the book, you won't use it. She has readings and outlines she will give to you on the first day of class, so get a binder for those. Take good notes, and don't miss class! Exams are difficult, make sure you write her definitions down verbatim. Schecule time to meet if you have questions or need help. You will work in this class.

I liked Betty's course, I only took her for a core and a general interest in Pysch. She's kind of low voted here but I enjoyed the class. Definitely wasn't an easy A, I don't know if I could've even pulled off an A but she's amusing, cares about the course and gives you packets to outline everything rather than making you search through a textbook

professor bachmann is one of the worst professors siena has to offer. she is so unclear in class and if you dont write exactly what she said in class on exams and quizzes you will not pass plus she expects you to elaborate again in her exact words. she weighs participation too heavily and is a pain about missing class. avoid at all costs

I don't understand some of these terrible comments.. She can be a bit of a diva but she's one of my favorite professors. The textbook was a waste, do not buy it because you are tested only on class material/readings. Show up to class, take good notes, participate often and you're golden. I would take her again, definitely recommend!

DON'T BUY THE BOOK! YOU WILL NEVER USE IT! NOT ONCE! She gives out her own little set of readings, all you need to buy is a binder to put the readings in! Also, Betty will help but only if you beg, and you'll receive a rude attitude. Does not show compassion when it comes to deaths in the family. Terrible professor, will NEVER take her again.

Honestly one of the worst professors I have had at Siena College. If you do not write down on a test the exact way she says something, even if you are right she will mark it wrong. Treats you like a 3rd grader and is not there for you as a student or person. Also don't buy the textbook because you will never use it and will be out $100.

Mandatory class for all psychology majors. Difficult class to get an A in. You have lots of quizzes and three tests. You can use your notes for the quizzes but you literally have to write down every single thing imaginable in order to get a good grade. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK you will never ever use it. She's a super hard grader when it comes to tests.

Never there for me as a student or human being. A close relative had passed and she would not allow me to take the final exam which made me miss the funeral. She is not personable. She does not explain her grading. She does not clarify any assignments. Would not recommend.

I liked Dr. Betty! True that she reads off the powerpoints but she elaborates on what is written. Take good notes because what she says in class will be on the test. She does like it when your test answers are verbatim to what she has said in class. I liked her enthusiasm and peppiness though, it was refreshing! She's the cutest little lady!

Incredibly insensitive. She told students they might as well shoot themselves if they got a question wrong on her test. If you don't write down EXACTLY what she wants you lose credit. Class average was low. Plays favorites. Never used book. Thinks she's the best thing to ever walk the Earth. Diva. POOR SOCIAL SKILLS. WHY IS SHE TEACHING SOC/PSYCH??

Absolutely dumbfounded by the negative feedback. Dr. Betty is an AMAZING teacher! True, we don't use the book in class but I use it to further clarify the outstanding class outline she provides, which is a perfect overview of what to expect on the tests. It basically tells you what to study. DUH! And she lets you use notes for the quizzes!

She's one of those professors who has no compassion for students. The majority of my class will study 2 hours for a quiz and we'll take 4-5 pages of notes but it still doesn't pay off. She grades so harshly and if you don't put down exactly what she had in mind, you won't get any credit. Avoid if you can...

I don't know what you people are talking about...Dr. Betty is the nicest, sweetest professor at Siena. She's one of those rare people who genuinely wants you to learn and do well. I'm not even a psych major and I find her class absolutely fascinating. She is intelligent and knows a lot about her field. I Definitely recommend her.
