By far the hardest coll150 class WM offers, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. You really get out of the class what you put into it. I found it extremely fulfilling, and I learned so much. Dr. Sher is so accessible outside of class, and she breaks all the big projects down so they don't seem so daunting- she is incredible and supportive, would recommend!

One of (if not the) smartest people I have ever met. Dr. Sher can answer any questions on any topics. She is an excellent professor and while she grades harshly, she is clear about requirements, gives great feedback, and is available to help you do well if you are willing to put in the effort. Lots of readings and hard work, but my favourite class

Dr. Sher's Journal Club is a great way to become familiar with current research, and get to know Dr. Sher a little bit better. Involves reading an article each week and listening to someone present information about it and lead discussion (different student each week). Good class for someone who likes research (and Dr. Sher) and has extra time!

Dr. Sher is an absolutely incredible professor. She will go above and beyond to help you with any writing assignments assigned throughout the semester. She is extremely knowledgable and able to answer any questions you have. If you're pre-med or interested in any health related career, this class is the one to take. Lots of work, but worth it.

Dr. Sher is an amazing teacher. Taking Emerging Diseases with her was one of my best choices in my 1st semester here. Her class is not easy, but if you want to be in a Health-Related career, this class is a must! The books you read are really interesting, and she's really good with leading discussion. Favorite class this fall.

Dr. Sher has been the best professor I've had at the College (that is considering I'm only a freshman). Over the summer when I had Pre-Med questions, she was more than willing to answer any questions, and was very prompt in answering them. I was blessed and got into Emerging Diseases, and she's a great teacher. I highly recommend anyone take her

She is very kind and definitely available to her students. Although there is reading to do for almost every class, the homework is not hard. There are two major writing assignments but she breaks it down into manageable pieces. Super interesting class, with great discussions!

A no-nonsense class structure, seminar style. You are expected to do a fair amount of background research but the class is extremely interesting.

I took this class a year ago. Honestly, I remember barely anything about it because so much info was packed into one semester. A ton of reading and a few papers that she'll edit to death, but you'll probably be happy with your grade in the end.

Bev Sher is one of the sweetest, kindest, most intelligent, most insightful, most HELPFUL Professors at this school. If you work hard and genuinely want to learn, she will go above and beyond for you. She cares about her students and she knows how to help you succeed. Take her class and don't let that be the end of your relationship with Bev!!!

You'll never learn so much in one class. She requires you to put in a lot of work but she also puts in work. The feedback she gives her students is extremely detailed and helpful and although you might have to pull some all nighters, you won't regret taking this class.

Dr. Sher is an amazing professor. Extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help, her class is one every student should take if given the chance. Discussion points are and readings are time consuming but usually interesting. The term paper is the major assignment in this class. An A is definitely possible if you put in the time/effort.

It is possible to get an A in this class, but you have to work for it. There is assigned reading every night and you have to prepare "discussion points" for every class. Dr. Sher is extremely knowledgeable and the class is always interesting. Overall, I'm glad I took this class.

This class is one of the most interesting ones I've ever taken. Dr. Sher knows literally everything. You will learn more SO much. But don't take this class. Grade is based on 2 papers you write, not on knowledge learned. For a freshman seminar worth 4 credits, it's not worth risking a low grade. She's amazing, but Sher grades EXTREME hard

Professor Sher is wonderful. I loved my freshman seminar. Lots of work, but she's extremely helpful... Answers emails promptly and gives examples of what's expected. If you do the work, you'll have a great understanding of emerging diseases. Also, no need to have taken AP Bio in high school... I took regular Bio in 10th grade and was just fine!
