Comment:
DO NOT take his intro course if you do not have any coding experience. Although they advertise that beginners can take the course, Booth's lectures can only be understood by an experienced programmer. He is an extremely hard grader. His lectures are a tremendous snooze fest. I relied on help from upperclassmen tutors to get by. Also unfriendly.

Booth will give you a great introduction to programming if you are looking to learn, but it will not be an easy grade to earn. The common grades are 0, 50, and 100. Make one mistake and a lot of points will be counted off, which on tests, I sometimes thought his deductions were unreasonable for intro level, but I do understand why. I enjoyed this.

Booth is a good teacher but he is of no help whatsoever outside of the class. If you have no experience with coding, I would not recommend taking his class. Too difficult for an INTRO course.

A smart man with humorous lectures. This class will be easy for those who are interested in Computer Science, but those who aren't may find themselves struggling a bit.

Dr. Booth is a GREAT lecturer and very helpful on programs but the HARDEST grader. He gives NO LEEWAY when it comes to grades. My TA would tell me to do one thing in lab and I'd get counted off and Booth would say "that's not my problem" The things you work the HARDEST and LONGEST on, barely count for any points. I would never take him again.

Great lecturer, generally helpful during his office hours. This man knows how to teach beginners. Pay close attention to his directions or you will do poorly in the class.

Humorous lectures. Doesn't get to know the class well. Very strict on details when grading. Overall if you listen to the lectures and keep his notes there is no need for a textbook. Easy tests and programs.

Booth is pretty much the easiest teacher I've ever had. And yet, surprisingly enough, I learned everything the course required. He told you how to do everything, wrote the code on the board in class, and told you what the practicum was beforehand. I can't believe how easy and good this class was.

Unbelievable teacher. All you have to do is listen well to every single lecture and write quickly when he goes over the programming assignment, but don't worry, it's easy.
