Professor Proulx is a really nice guy and will answer any questions you have. However, his lectures are boring and he doesnt engage the class. He rants. BUT, as long as you use the power points as a outline and refer back to the text book.. youll get a good grade! Final is optional.

Hardest class i've ever taken. Nice guy, but never answers his emails and doesn't offer extra credit. Tests are 80% of your final grade and every test is harder than the last.

Hardest class I've taken. No study guides, outlines or ideas about what will be on the test, and they are worth 80% of your grade. Seems passionate about the topic, however, he is boring in lecture and gets off topic a lot. He will sometimes spend half the class reteaching what we went over the previous class because he forgot where we left off.

By far the hardest class I've ever taken. Tests are 4/5ths of your grade and are confusing. He's passionate about the topic, but spends at least half of each class talking about real life nutrition stuff which would be great because it's important to know, but that ends up being less than 10% of each test, so you have to teach yourself everything.

Tests make up 75% of your grade for this class, so if you arent a stellar test taker do NOT take this class. Several online quizzes but even if you do well it barely shows on your grade. Project is easy if you follow the due date timeline. Lecture notes are posted online, and doesn't take attendance.

Tests are very long and tricky with his E and F options of All of the above or none of the above. Quizzes randomly pop up. Guy loves what he teaches but is so monotone it was a very boring class to take. Goes into deep specifics, goes off track with random stories a majority of the time

I had him for the fall 2016 semester. He is a really nice guy who talks from the heart. However as he states in the syllabus, you NEED to read the textbook to pass! The lectures in class are more of a basic outline of what might be on the test. So read the textbook!

Lectures in this class were very boring. He loves talking about the fact that he was a vegan for a long time. He grades pretty fairly for the most part. He is a nice guy but his voice is very monotone and it made it very difficult for me to focus. If you read the chapters and study you will do fine on the tests.

Dr. P's teaching style is basically speaking from his heart. It's evident that he loves what he does, and he's able to answer practically every question given to him from memorization. He's very organized, but can be unclear about due dates for assignments/quizzes, so make sure to ask. When taking online quizzes, keep the book open on the chapter.

For one thing he likes to discuss politics and religion in class and I would rather learn about material important to the class. Also the tests are not made to evaluate your knowledge on the subject, the tests are extremely tricky. Dry lecture with broad notes and then detailed test questions.

He takes too much pride in telling students what they don't know. He is definitely not a good mentor or leader for peers/students.

I have taken several classes with Dr. Proulx. They're very boring and he makes several mistakes on tests and quizzes. This makes the material more confusing. From my perspective, he does not care to explain things in detail if a student is confused about something. Unfortunately, there are no options for other professors in these classes.

Lot of mixed emotions. He makes you work for your grade. He sometimes says things won't be on the test but then they end up on it. He gets off topic A TON during lectures. He has a sense of humor and he loves what he does. A nice guy if you get to know him. He can just be unclear about test sometimes (no study guide, no outlines)

Proulx has a sense of humor, unlike some other teachers I have had. He is very interested in students' feedback. Proulx is also Canadian. Tests are easy and straight from the notes. Speeches are difficult but are a great way to boost your confidence in public speaking skills.

Dr. Proulx is smart, and he's a good teacher. His powerpoints give you what you need to know. Some tests are diverse with something for everyone. Some are multiple choice that all have a b &c or all of the above as answers. He expects you to write at a higher level than we are really taught to write at. Focuses on research rather than nutrtion.
