One thing, his tests are not easy! Studying wont help. All projects grades are extremely reasonable and fair. Sure he rolls his eyes at certian students, but how can you not? Hes nice to us all, and shows care and concern for his students. A very positive man! He trys to make us all feel good about our productions. Also very smart.

Took him for Film Appreciation. Very easy tests, come write from your workbook, every film you watch you write a review on it...not hard at all (mostly opinions) the movies are always different and usually interesting. Nice guy, funny

Professor Burns was a wealth of knowledge which made things so much fun and interesting. The movies we watched may not have all been my favorites but I clearly understood the points he was trying to get across. Don't take this class if you think it will be easy and all you do is watch movies because that is so far from the truth!

I don not recommend his on-line class. I'm a straight A student; writing is my forte. All assignments were well written and turned in on time. My papers were graded without comments or suggestions for improvement. Requests for feedback were answered "You're doing fine". I got nada out of this class except a B. Put your tuition dollars elsewhere.

Burns is a fair prof. Make sure you study your butt off for the 6 unit tests and you will do fine. Don't miss class, don't be an ass, and don't piss him off. I had the fortunate experience & was friends with students who'd had him prior to class and I think that was why I didn't find him playing faves. However, I can see where other students might.

THis guy is the best teacher I've ever had at BCC. Knows his**** and is cool as hell. Will answer any question. I never had him before, liked him so much I'll take what ever I can with him.

I have the unfortunate burden of reporting the great contempt I had for this professor. He hated me for reasons I had been respected as a person before, he grades erratically based on his personal likes and dislikes, gives no hope for connection with peers, and his teachings were pretentious. NOT recommended if you actually like watching movies.

The peopel in my classes - and I've taken three with him, fail or do bad because they don't show up or don;t do the work. he is cool
