Been well nearly a decade since I actually took his classes - and still remember this man very well. He's funny, smart, and at times, very bitter. Not everyone's cup o' tea I suppose, but a very valuable part of my whole uni experience. Clearly not always the happiest of people, which tended to cloud his classes somewhat. But worth our while.

Dr. March is a rebellious iconoclast who tries to pass as sensible though he does not always succeed. However, he has a brilliant mind and can lecture in amusing stream-of-conscious mode while pacing the front of the classroom like a caged panther yearning to release all his considerable power. A very entertaining prof!

Best teacher ever, hands down. He is the only teacher that I actually enjoyed going to class for , his humor and wit provide for an entertaining hour or so. He definitely relates to his students better than any other. unfortunately SMU cannot put up with his different methods of teaching and well I can't officially say fired him, but he "retired".

March is perhaps one of the best university profs out there. HE may come off as arrogant by his rep. BUT he is actually an intelligent and funny person. If you can land a class with him it will be the 3-6 best credits you have ever earned!

One of the most interesting guys I've ever met. I've skipped a lot of classes this year and in past years (bad habit) But I didn't miss even ONE class of March's. He is hilarious, intelligent, and will keep you thinking. If you ever have a chance to meet this guy, take it!

Loved the guy, I think he is one of the most interesting profs I have ever had and going to the class was never a drag. As long as you donĂ¢€™t take anything to hart, there is a lot to be learned.

He is one of the most interesting profs on campus, and definetly the most controversial but he keeps you interested and I would definetly recommend him, However St. Mary's offered him some type of deal for his early retirement and he is leaving after this semester which means we are out of luck and have to get a new prof!! hopeful it will be Mercer

Did not like this course. The Prof was not helpful! Would have liked lectures to be more related to the course. U should know that if SMU doesn't like what you say about a prof they can delete you! Comments end up being bias so I can't say much more!

Very Hard class most difficult readings I have done thus far in university. Extremely fair Prof always in his office if you are interested in a discussion about the materials or about the world in general. Speaks his mind so if you are expecting a baby sitter for a Prof donĂ¢€™t take his class.

I feel privelaged to have him as my prof and would stand beside him if needed. SMU is all the better to have him at their university. If you listen he speaks truth.

I didn't really like him much. I found him to be rather unclear when teaching and he seemed to teach to a select few in the class. I ended up dropping the class. Very smart man but he does tend to run at the mouth a lot.

yeah March is controversial, he's a philosophy prof. You don't have to agree with him but he has the right to his opinion and to encourage debates in his classes. He's not a ****, he just believes in free speech and i think that's a great thing for a professor to encourage.
