Knows he can't teach so he gives a huge curve so everyone barely passes. I don't know a single person that passed his test before the curve. He gets homework online so it isn't even useful for the tests. Practice test and quizzes also don't help with test. Cant finish a thought during lecture.

Part A I took him this semester for the weekend class and I can guarantee you that he is a good professor. He is knowable on the subject and goes through all the sections in the book the way the book has it laid out. Unless you are not keeping up with the reading, the material may seem scattered.

Part B Now let me describe the class, every unit (3 chapters) he gave us a homework package that had about 15 - 20 problems. We had about three weeks to complete the homework and on the due date we took a quiz. After that he gave us a week took study for the unit exam. Every quiz and unit exam you can bring a cheat sheet which is very hopeful.

Not too bad of a professor. I got an A but that's because I'm pretty much a self-taught student. Students who don't posses the self-taught trait will definitely have the hardest time of their life in this class as he does not qualify to teach in my books. Gives you a cheat sheet during exams and goes pretty easy on the grading, though.

Lab was very easy! He's happy to help you if you run into an issue, but mostly let's you work on your own, which I liked.

His lectures were very scattered, and hard to follow. That may have been my fault, because I didn't read the chapter before class. He hands out a list of topics that will be on the next test, and I followed along with that as he taught. I somehow got an A, since he lets you drop a bad grade.

This is my rating for his lab(NOT HIS LECTURE). Compared to his lecture, the lab is extremely easy. The only thing is that he expects you to know what you're doing, so don't expect him to guide him through. The instructions he gives you are the bare minimum. I really suggest looking up youtube videos similar to the lab you're doing before you go in

If you take his chemistry lecture, whatever you do, do not fall behind. I fell behind the first week of school and I never caught up. All of the stuff he talks about is imperative to passing, and I more than recommend reading beforehand. This is not an easy class. The lectures are long, the tests are tough, and you have to KNOW the material.

Cheek is smart but does not know how to teach students. Your textbook will be your professor for this course. It's hard to understand him in class, he goes too fast and only uses the whiteboard he scribbles on with his chicken scratch. Don't expect to learn through his lectures, he will not dumb it down for you. However, does curve grades BIG TIME.

This professor is horrible. I have taught myself everything for this class. I've spent hours on youtube and with my face in my textbook in attempts to fill the holes that he lacks in his ability to teach. Don't subject yourself to this!

Testsquizzes are extremely hard, wsome topics barely touched during lecture. He clearly expects you to carry your weight &read the material to help you become familiar with the subject. I highly recommend not skipping class bc the mixture of reading & lecture helps in making sense of the material. Nice guy &wants you to do well & he curves a lot!

He doesn't really explain what is going on during the lab. He expects you to already understand what is going on based on the prelab done before class. If you are self motivated and don't need a professor to walk you through the lab experiment, he would be the type of teacher for you. Easy class but he doesn't explain what needs to be done.

RUN! He is a great guy but teaching is not his thing. He will not be of any use: "Oh its easy, its easy"- shuns you off. His lectures are like watching a train wreck, and he has such low interest in the subject- unless it involves a story about him. He never gives clear instruction either. Overall: he is not a good professor.

Very very hard. The instructor teaching Chem lecture is wonderful but the lab section with Cheek is very very difficult. He is a hard grader. He goes through every lab Advanced Study/Lab Experiment line by line. He also created extra quizzes for each lab. Chemistry II Lab is just a 1 credit class but it feels like 4 credits of work. Miserable :(

excellent teacher. will stop the whole class when a single person doesnt understand something and will make sure that everyone is on the same level. if you go to class you will pass. he will get off subject and talk about his college years but entertain him a little and the time will float away.

I am surprised to see his ratings are low. I know his students, lectures, and syllabus. He has reasonable expectations, is well organized and very fair. Anyone who complains probably isn't aware that some chemsitry professors at ACC write "Arbeit Macht Frei" on their tests.
