Comment:

Very interesting class, just because of the professor. Laughed the whole class long for the first week just because he was such a shock. Did not expect a teacher like him. Early 90s or late 80s in age. If you take him, swing by his office and he will let you hold a tarantula!!!

Comment:

Took both Zoology and Invert. Natural History. Taught us that a Big Mac was the perfect food (a bit of this and a bit of that), and you can -- with luck and creativity -- rob Kroger with a booger on the tip of your finger. He knows, loves and lives his material. He is extreemly helpful and is willing to give you any amount of time.

He is a very nice, sweet old man. I imagine that he was once an amazing teacher, but is not so much anymore. If you go to class you get bonus points on your tests, but his lectures are hard to understand. He posts 3 copies of old tests for you to study, one of which will be your test. If you take this class going to the SI will greatly help.

Not organized at all... Extremely difficult to hear what he is saying or writing... Most of his test questions are posted, but you won't find many of the answers in the book... I tried moving to the front and taping his lecture and isolating his voice digitally but still couldn't hear what he was saying... Very nice guy though...

Nice man and was probably a good teacher in his time, but he's very hard to follow now!!! His lectures are not organized at all(i.e. sloppy, non legable notes), he gets off track easily, posts old tests but answers are so random!!! If you do take this class, go to SI!!! They know his lectures, and can help you!!!

FULL of knowledge. His lectures are hard to follow and he's sometimes difficult to hear if you sit anywhere but the front. Posts old tests, and if you sit around after class with him he will help you find the answers or at least tell you if you're right. He's a darling old man. You'll see him as another grandpa before the semester is over.

He is actually really intelligent if you get to know him outside of lecture. His gibberish on the board might confuse you but if you sit close and listen carefully you will start to understand. Even if you're tempted to miss class don't he gives out quizzes (1 question from lecture) as bonus point everyday. Don't need to bring your book but need it

This man is so funny! Hes kinda hard to understand sometimes but he very knowledgable. He gives you copies of past tests to study by, which helps alot. The first impression is kinda like...what tha heck..but after a bit you really learn to love him. Hes great.

Helpful, but does not use power point, messy chalkboard notes, sometimes hard to read. He posts copies of old tests, very helpful when studying for upcoming tests. SI is offered, be sure to attend, otherwise there isn't a lot of hope.

His class is way more interesting than you would expect, especially because he always goes off on tangents! He knows a whole lot about the material, but if you have trouble taking notes, beware: he writes them on the board, and they look like scribbles! Still, fun prof, fun class!

The most outstanding and memorable professor I had in college. Knowledgeable,friendly,and helpful. A student that has had Dr. Gibson for a professor has had the very best. Any rating except exceptional comes from a student that does not know the meaning of a true scholar and probably is narrow minded and academically deficient. He is a true mentor!

An amazingly intelligent professor, friendly man, and always willing to help. Wants to make it interesting for you, gives you old tests and the answers are all within his lectures if you go to class. SI is a HUGE help for lecture and lab! You will learn more than you realize!

I would recommend taking him for Bio 133. He's hard to understand when he lectures, but his tests come straight from old tests in the past. If he doesn't give you your test back on the next class day, he'll add 5 pts. on the test. Always a plus!!!

you dont need the book!! hes hard to understand at the board, but if you go to SI and study youll be ok, most tests are stright from past tests, study hard for a few days before tests and youll be fine. try hard to make an A!! youll need it to balance your lab grade!

he is a great teacher, but is very hard to understand. he tells alot of jokes in class, and they are funny. he gives u 5 pts. after each test, he gives u 5 pts. xtra for each class day that he does not give u back your tests. nice!!

He is a great teacher! All you need to do is go and copy ALL of the old tests that he posts and memorize them. I wish i would have figured that out sooner. But it was soon enough for me to pull a 96 on the final.
