He does made odd/rude comments, but he's just trying to get everyone to pay attention. He expects you to know the material. It isn't easy, but if you have any interest at all in medicine or bio science then all this should be expected and taken in stride. Its easier to study if you COMBINE your lab and lec notes. He made me fall in love w/bio again

Alright yea he does insult people and make jokes in class but he doesnt mean anything by it. You people need to get a sense of humor because he's just trying to have fun in class. He never says anything terribly offensive get over it. He knows the material very well and if you go to class you will too. Tests arent easy but an A is managable.

Entomology is a lot of fun. Expect to go on a lot of field trips for your insect collection. Notes are straightforward and the tests come mostly from notes and class discussion.

Hard but awesome. He is not a **** pig though he is scathing especially if you act like you are too good to put your hand on frog brains. He outlines what will be on lab exams on the board in lab so write it down and study. Exams are straightforward and easy in comparison to many other bio profs. Great sense of humor, interesting classes :)

By far the worst teacher ever. He is the most arrogant SOB I have ever met and is so insulting. Totally unprofessional attitude and does not deserve to teach because of the way he treats students. Whoever said not to take him to seriously is full of crap because you shouldn't have to put up with insults from a college professor. Do not take him.

the trick to passing Grogan's Zoology class is to take lotttts of notes, study as hard as you possibly can starting a couple days before an exam, and kiss his ass. Always take his word over what the textbook says. Yes, sometimes he can seem to be highly inappropriate, but it's all in good fun. If you take his attitude too seriously you'll hate him

Dr. Grogan is an okay teacher, but I often found some of his comments to be unprofessional and insulting to some of the students. Dont take his classes if you aren't comfortable being called out for whatever in class.

He is the most arrogant and the most rude person I've ever met. He puts students on the spot and calls them "idiots" when they get answers wrong. He makes rude jokes and makes people feel uncomfortable. He is highly opinionated. He knows his subject, but if you don't he'll make you feel dumb. His tests can be tricky even if you study all day.

If you want to take a class that is straight forward and has no bull in it, take this class. Study for all his exams and you'll get through ok. Some material on lecture exams were pointless, but otherwise, take no offense to his jokes and he'll make it a fun class. This is why I'm a biology major.

This guy made me decide to change my major to biology. He has such a good teaching style that you will always remember everything from his class. He makes all the information so interesting that I never felt I was being forced to learn stupid stuff. Best prof I ever had. Don't pass him up.

I really enjoyed his class, although it is not too easy. Lab exams aren't too bad but his lecture exams require memorization of everything. Just read over the lecture notes. He often puts you on the spot but he does it to everyone. Makes class interesting
