He's very passionate and makes the class interesting! He assigns a LOT of reading but they really help you to understand everything. There are only a few grades in the class but he grades papers pretty easily. The tests were pretty tough but there were 2. Overall, the class wasn't too hard, there was just a lot of work. He's an awesome professor.

Definitely the best professor I have ever had. He is incredibly passionate about Sociological Theory and genuinely cares about each of his students. I would retake Sociological Theory over and over again just to have it with him. It has really made me think a lot.

Dr. Swart is a fantastic prof. He is wonderfully engaging, and his lectures truly changed many of my views. He assigns a big research project, but he gives you plenty of time to work on it, so that you can actually enjoy it if you don't procrastinate. Also, stop by his office hours; Dr. Swart is very willing to help out if you have any questions.

This class was great. He mainly lectured about the assigned readings. Great speaker, voice fills the room. Makes you think about life in a different way. Very liberal. I would totally recommend him. Very few grades in the class. Slightly intimidating. One of my favorite teachers.

Class was fun, usually left thinking about it. First half was mostly notes about general stuff, second half was discussion about books. Doesn't give many grades, and is intimidating about the assignments. If you try to connect the ideas to your own life, he's not that bad. Classes were always fun and intriguing. I would definitely recommend him.
