He is good proff. Just read the text (like you should do for any other chem class) and you should do fine. The assignments are a great way to increase your mark, so do them. The material is easy and when he is rambling on you don't have to listen because he does't test you on it.

Can be a little boring at times, but he knows he stuff. If one comes to class having already read that chapter then he is very clear, if not well he is hard to understand. Overall he is a good teacher. Just need to work a little harder in his class than in some others.

He was like a evil old man, I really don't want to talk a professor like this way, but he is really really really not teaching any thing AT ALL. I am now scared about inorganic chemistry

Please, AVOID! Waltz understand his stuff, but doesn't teach it. No problem examples given in the class. For some reason, continuously repeated the importance of "international agreement" :|. I ended up going to Bartole-Scott after the midterm. She gives several examples. From what I heard, the classroom was empty by the end of the year.

Ok, definitley one of the worst profs that ever taught at the University. He is probably smart, but horrible at explaining. Infact, the one thing that made up my mind, was the day he taught the PH Scale backwards... Yup. So i switched to Bartole-Scott, along with several others. Considerably better at teaching and explaining things. Avoid him.

By far the worst prof I eve had. Didn't cover one mathematical formula all year. Come on buddy this is chemistry. By the end of the year we had 40 students showing up out of 270, that says it all.

OMG!!Ok,I had to drop 112 because I couldn't understand him,and then I got him again a second time because others didn't fit my sched. TERRIBLE!! He's not a bad guy, but he's too old to teach and speaks about irrelevant topics. As others said I think I learned more from looking at the notes on the web from the other prof! STAY AWAY!!

Though he knows what he's talking about, Waltz will only cover theories in the class, not how to use equations. Chem 112 is a review from Chem 20 & 30, my advice- register with Prof. Bartole-Scott; clearer approach and covers the topics in the best way, plus post notes. I started going to her lectures instead and it's what saved me in Chem.

Bill Waltz, where do I begin. Wow. This guy blows my mind. I've learned more from playing with cats about chemistry. And he's like 150 years old. He has to turn off the overhead to hear people. Thats something else. Come on Waltzy, get with the program. Terrible teacher. Bad show, no thanks for coming out.

i have been in his class for a month and he is a horrible prof he just isnt good at teaching the info he knows. he rambles on about nothing and takes like 3 classes to get to a simple point like balancing equations. I am disatisfied with his teaching and i cannot believe i have to pay to take this class. every class is like a punch in the face.

Hes a rambler alright. He talked for 2 classes on the shape of a rain drop! I don't know when I will ever need that but maybe someday I will be on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and they will ask the stupid question. I lose less brain cells when I drink then when I was in his class!

Rambles on about unimportant things that barely relate to the material. spends 95% of time rambling and 5% of time teaching how to use equations. Want to learn the material, but is deprived of the opportunity in the lectures.

This proff rambles on and on and takes the entire class to reach a single point in his lecture. I feel so sorry for those who are taking this class for the first time because you will be lost!

Has a tendancy to go too far into answering a question. Fairly easy tests if you're awake in the lectures. If he knows your name and face, there's a good chance he'll call on you in the lecture.
