Comment:

I rated this professor last year after receiving an F. I retook this course and passed with a C and ended the semester with over a 3.0 GPA. Not the best grade but I will accept it due to the amount of information that must be memorized in this course. Overall, her teaching style is still the same. She is very knowledgeable but difficult.

This course is extremely difficult if you do not study everyday. Your grades will only consist of 6 quizzes, 2 essay tests, and optional extra credit. I encourage those who take this to join study groups. This course is required for my minor and I must retake it and her being the only one that teaches this course puts a lot of pressure on me.

Dr. Follensbee is a fantastic professor. I've never met someone more passionate about their work than her and it makes for an amazing class! She is a very tough grader but if you study a good amount you will do well. I recommend flash cards for terms and slide IDs for each unit test. Would take her again in a heartbeat!

I've never loved a professor as much as I love this woman! She's so funny, and it's obvious she knows what she's talking about. Yes, there is a lot of material covered quickly, but go to class and take notes and you'll be fine! She really helped me gain a TRUE love for art history! I definitely plan on trying for more courses taught by her.

Museum Studies Minor here, this class was required. Prof Follensbee expects you to work hard but rewards you. You know exactly what you will be tested on and when. She gives you extra credit opportunities. USE FLASHCARDS! Books- if you take good notes in discussion you really don't need them. I like her so much I am taking another class with her.

Follensbee was my favorite professor this semester. The class is extremely interesting, and she's so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject material. She makes you work for your grade though, so ATTEND CLASS! I would take a class of hers again.

She is a very tough Professor, but a sweet lady. If you are willing to work for your grade I say take the class. It's super interesting and she is very intelligent in the subject. Also she is wanting the best for you but again, she is HARD. Also you cannot miss a class make sure you have a friend in the class, share notes, GET A STUDY GROUP.

Dr. Follensbee is very intelligent and it is obvious that she is interested in the subject and knows what she is talking about. However, if you miss one class you are screwed. Lectures are fast-paced and quizzes are often (as well as the only form of points received). In my opinion, she gets way too detailed and I would not take her course again.

This class is hard and Dr. Follensbee expects a lot of her students, but she's really helpful. She gives you a million study sheets and reviews before each quiz because she wants you do to well. It was a lot of work, but you learn a lot and it's obvious that she's very intelligent and interested in what she teaches.

Billie is an amazing teacher that deserves to be at a more legit college than Missouri State. She is challenging and has little patience for poor students. If you show her respect she will work with you to fit your needs. If you take her, make sure you talk to her one on one and develop your own relationship with her because it's worth it.

Dr. Follensbee was wonderful! Be ready to take a lot of notes and study them. Everyone says this class (Non-Western Art) is difficult, but it really isn't. If you write down what she says, study it, and review it, you'll pass her "quizzes" with flying colors. One thing I didn't like was moving right on to the next lectures after some quizzes.

She's very very enthusiastic! Learned so much taking this class. Difficult because of the amount of information she gives. Make sure you study! Take notes constantly all class. Lots of images, doesn't read off her powerpoints. Write down everything she says! Lots of extra credit! One of my favorite classes. I highly recommend!!

She is one of the mose enthusiastic and intelligent professors I have had so far at MSU. It's a very difficult subject/class, but as long as you go to EVERY class and study you should do fine. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit as well. I would take her again.

Took this simply as a gen. ed. Hardest class I've ever taken, and I'm a senior. She once gave us a quiz after lecturing over the material ONCE!!! So we had a quiz two out of three days once, and these quizzes require TONS of studying and memorizing (around 40 slides to only be quizzed on 5). She went over everday! Too bad im out of characters...

Had her for ART 273 (twice, had to retake it) and ART 496. She's an incredibly knowledgeable source of information although she demands alot of academic rigor out of her students and makes you work hard for your grades. If you're interested in the subjects though, you couldn't find a better professor.

Great teacher and knows her stuff. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. It's better you show up for class and know what is going on cause her quizzes are some what hard. There are also 2 essay test which she grades pretty hard so you have to write a lot and in detail about the question otherwise you'll end up with a C.

Dr. Follensbee is really nice. Her lectures were really easy to understand. She always reveiwed what went on during the last class ( not as in depth) She repeats anything if asked, and does it anyway... so its really easy to remember the material because u will hear it more than once. Study guides are given before each test. A good teacher to take!

I had her for AOA and African Art(386). Yes it's true her tests are challenging but if you STUDY, PAY ATTENTION and GO TO CLASS you can easily get a B in the class. She is a GREAT TEACHER... but people who don't appreciate her knowledge will just rate her as hard and boring. She is what a teacher should be.

Requires alot of her students but you learn soooo much, it was a fun class once I got into it. six 'quizzes' (tests) and three essay tests...hard but do-able. hairstyle is one in a million.
