I had Dr. Bowers for Intro to Public Speaking in Spring of 2015 and loved him! He was really fun and easy to talk to. If I had a chance to take a class again, I would choose another class with him.

Professor Bowers is the best professor (and he's hilarious!) He is so caring and understands how hard public speaking can be for some people. He is respectable and wants his students to succeed. He holds your hand through basically every presentation and makes it so easy to pass. Definitely take him, you won't regret it!

Bowers is easily the best professor I've ever had. He has the best stories ever and i looked forward to them every day. Attendance matters but it really won't be an issue because it will be your favorite class within a day. He is amazing at making the class become like a big family and i miss it every day. 12/10 would recommend.

Public speaking is a drag, and can be terrifying. But professor Bowers understands this and makes the class funny and comforting for people who hate public speaking like me. If you show up, do the speeches, and participate in class you will pass with flying colors. Highly recommend him!

I like Bowers a lot. He's a great guy who is approachable and loves talking to his students. These aspects help make him perfect for teaching public speaking since he's good at getting people comfortable and building confidence. The class isn't that fun and the book is useless, but he makes the most of it.

I loved him. He was so funny and he was an easy grader. Attendance is mandatory and the tests are a little hard because he doesn't go over much of the material but other than that the class is cake. Definitely recommend.

This guy shouldn't be teaching still. He didn't go over the book in class, but each weekly quiz was on the book and the mid term and final. His review of the book for the final was 10 minutes, so it didnt help.During the speeche he interupts students, by saying something, the speaker stops and says "what", then an awkward pause right in the middle

Bob Bowers is the most fantastic professor I have ever had. He super duper funny and has a knack for making class interesting. He is very helpful and will make sure you need to know everything there is to know about doing a speech before you do it. I cannot say enough good things about Bob!Anyone who has to take COMM 130 NEEDS to take it with him!!

He was okay, just okay. It's not like he's going to change your life or anything, but if you have to take this class for a GER then he's a pretty good option. Sometimes he grades based on whether or not he agrees with you though, and I found that marginally annoying.

He's a nice, funny guy and definitely kept me awake during my 9am class. He's very helpful with your speeches and is always available for help thru email, phone, or in person. He gives quizzes often, but it's mostly just on the vocab from the chapter. He's very understanding when it comes to fear of public speaking and he wants u to be successful

Great guy, funny & weird. Gives weekly quizzes, expects you to read a lot. Usually didn't, but you probably should at least look over the questions at the end of the chapter and the key words. Two tests were okay, much like longer quizzes, two speeches and one group presentation. Don't wait til the last night.

Prof. Bowers is so much fun that you don't realize that you're learning a LOT. Advice: don't save the reading for the last minute- it is a LOT of material, and his quizzes are only 10 questions (that cover 80-100 pages!!!). Buy the book new with the CD, and do the online practice tests- they are a HUGE help. I surprisingly enjoyed this class a LOT.
