Exams were lecture-based. Do not skip class. Textbook largely for background knowledge. Thinks of himself as tough-but-fair, in reality he has a barely muted tyrannical side. Be careful.

Go to all of this lectures, take notes, and read the textbook (mainly for terminology). These are a must for his class, otherwise you'll get a B or C at best. Exams aren't too bad (all multiple choice). Be prepared for a conceited attitude when you ask him a question after class or during his office hours (although he is friendly during class).

He is always talking about how he lives in a legit commune and about how great it is. Whatever. If you want to get an A on an exam, write about how Minimum Wage is awesome or Elizabeth Warren. Sometimes if you don't know the write answer, you will still get points if you put something funny down and it makes him laugh.

He, is kind of a hippie. But you will get an ok grade and he respect's you as a person just, don't be a dumas haha. Sometime he will tell the same joke two or three time's and you have to just laugh like you have'nt heard it before, but, that is really the worse that can be said lol

My fifth favorite professor ever. He brought in vegan brownies to teach us about the Federal Reserve's system and doesn't get all butthurt if you miss exams for a good reason like someone died. You can get extra credit if you go to an Occupy Wall Street event or write an essay about Dignity.

Got a B. Show up to every lecture, pay attention, take good notes, & study hard and often. Your grade is based solely on three hard exams & it's hard to gauge where you stand in the class when the 1st exam (on scantron) is given back only after the 2nd one has already been taken. He's intimidating, egotisical & seems too busy for his 101 class.

This teacher is beyond the worst teacher imaginable. He requires u to buy a $50 software but neither uses it nor gives extra credit for it. Although the top exam score is 85, he only curves by 5%. Grade is based on 3 exams that would be simple if he knew how to teach. Do not take his class...u will fail or at most, get a B....at most!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I REPEAT. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Bob is an awful teacher. Exactly 0% of what he says pertains to what is on the test. Most of his students fail. His lectures are horrifyingly boring as well. We did not get back a grade for our first exam (ON SCANTRON) until two weeks before the end of the semester and after our second test.

Great Teacher. Pay Attention in class for the essays on the exam and make sure you read for the multiple choice on exams. If you do all that you should be fine. He talks about current issuses that go with the topic in the book and he makes it fun.

This Professor was with the second worst I've had at UMBC. The worst taught just as bad but gave easy exams, and I got an A without trying. He gave exams that did not match his lectures (which were boring and dense), and I got a D by studying and trying. DO NOT, do not take a 100 level class with him. Learn the material first from a teacher.

He would have been a good teacher if his lectures matched the exams he gave us. I honestly have never studied harder for a single class and still received C's and low B's on the exams. It is almost like he gets satisfaction in seeing his students struggle. Avoid this professor at all costs. He is way too egotistical for a 100 level class.

He gives GREAT examples which help you understand the material. The only grades you have are 3 exams and they are sometimes hard. Takes forever to grade exams. He's approachable and nice. Book is useful, but he is lecture-based.

He's one of the worst professors at the school. Attend class and get help if you need, but he's still a mean professor at the core of it. He's on a delusional ego trip as a professor but he's good at keeping it subtle. run while u can.
