Dr. Martin is my favorite professor Ive ever had and his class was hard, due to the unavoidable memorization, but he made it fun and rewarding. I loved his class so much I took every art history class he offered. I highly recommend him!! I am so happy he is still around! Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from him while you can!

Some of the hardest tests I have ever taken. I love art history. When I took this class I was a Digital Media major. I loved Art History 1 and got an A. But this class was the first class I almost failed in college. Something about his tests was just so unreasonably difficult. And if you do badly on one test that's it because there are few grades.

Be prepared to devote all your time to studying this one class. Your only assignments are four tests. If you bomb one, prepare to deal with a bad grade for the whole semester. Some of the questions on the tests are brutal, like giving two similar dates (1942 or 1949) and asking which one is correct. Too much material to cover for four whole tests.

Dr. Martin is awesome! He truly cares about the success of all his students. All you need to do is go to every class, take good notes, study daily and you'll do great. If you want a good grade, you have to put in the effort there is no other way around it.

Always write down and highlight the "keep in minds" and "on your test" segments of notes, for these are half of your test questions. I never went to his office, but he seemed to adore those who did. We covered interesting material, however because the lectures was so fast paced it was impossible to really appreciate the art.

This class was definitely challenging but doable. Dr Martin lectures at a fast pace but lets students record the lecture. Write down his "make a note of," "this will be on the test," and "keep in mind" points. Just memorize the images and don't buy the textbook. Go to class and get the right images. Start studying ASAP. I ended up with an A.

Although failing this class, which was my own fault for personal reasons, Dr. Martin is one of the greatest professors at UCF. His lectures are filled with information and knowledge. You MUST pay attention to what he is saying in order to pass. He also has certain phrases that will let you know that that specific point her made is important.

Enthusiastic professor and interesting to listen to, but covers too much information in too short a period of time. Only 4 exams, none of which are easy. Best way to go about them is to memorize the image list and study the points he says to "make a note" of. Don't waste money on the books, just take/get notes and go to his office hours.

Covers HUGE amounts of information for tests, so be ready to devote a lot of time to studying if you want to do well. I didn't care for his type of humor and he was snippy at people who asked questions during class. Because it was such a massive amount of information, I don't feel like I actually learned much in this class that will stick.

Dr. Martin is one of the best professors at UCF. His lectures are intellectually stimulating and covers everything you'll need to know for the tests. There are three tests, all of which are easy as long as you know the material. To do great in this class you need to study on a regular basis, it's the only way otherwise the tests will be hard.

Professor Martin is awesome! I just started this course and love his lectures, he keeps the interest level high. He is always helpful, just ask all your questions in his office. I haven't taken an exam yet, but all three are multiple choice. Just go to class, write down key information along with "keep in mind" and "for your notes".

Go to class and take notes. If you don't study you will fail the tests because he covers a HUGE amount of information for each test. You really have to devote a good chunk of time to this class. I wouldn't recommend asking questions in class because he can be rude.

Very helpful. Although I found him to be very rude at times, he knows a plethora of information about art history and doesn't shy from passing it over. Work hard and you'll do fine.

Professor Martin is by far my favorite instructor at UCF. The passion he has for art history will trickle down to you if you pay attention and go to every class. DO NOT SKIP. If he says "make a note" or puts emphasis on an important fact, write it down. It will be on the test. Highlight these points in your notes when you study. I recommend highly

Show him you're willing to work hard, it makes a difference. He's willing to help, but not during class (only before/after & office hrs). A little disorganized (syllabus outdated & didn't match the chapters in the book). Can be unnecessarily rude sometimes. Won't take him again unless necessary. Keep up on the info and you'll survive.

I LOVE THIS MAN. Although, his tests are hard...he makes knowing what exactly will be on the test very easy. Here is what you need to know: GO TO EVERY CLASS. Do not skip any classes. When he says "for your notes" it WILL be a test question. 20 images&30 q's to a test.Go to his office hours, he is very easy to talk to!

I'm currently taking this class a second time because I failed the first time around. Pulling an all-nighter for the test won't work. You need to keep up with the material, take notes (especially when he says "keep in mind" &etc.), and find a way to study the images. He's very nice in office hours&helpful, and cares about how you're doing.

Very knowledgeable! This guy knows his stuff and he knows how to make it interesting! Attend EVERY class and take good notes! When he says, "make a note," or "this sounds like a test question"...WRITE IT DOWN! He has accomplished alot in his life and he is a joy to have as a professor.
