Somehow manages to turn 10 minutes of lecture material into 45 minute rants on the topic.. The slides he shows have almost nothing to do with the quizzes which he gives at the beginning of every class. The quizzes are also on really specific details from the 50 page readings and are easy to miss. Your whole grade is based off the 11 or so quizzes.

Poor time management; the period is 2.5 hours long and there were several classes where we didn't even finish a 2 hour movie. Lectures were rambling and near-pointless, and a lot of the test questions involved small, easily forgotten details (including the endings of films that we didn't finish). No alternative prof so you just gotta deal with it.

I'll be honest, this guy (as a person not a teacher) is a bit of a pompous dictator. He feels that it is his duty to shame and scorn anyone who walks in late, and will spend more time droning on about his distaste for others than lecturing. knowledgeable, and informed on his topic, but is not that good of a teacher. His ego grades you.

Professor Jordan is probably one of the kindest professors on campus. He knows that his class is very easy; and therefore, expects students to attend class and stay the entire class period. Also, he provides enough (easy) extra credit that it is almost impossible not to receive at least a B-,as long as you attend his classes.

This class is pretty chill, you don't have to stay for the movies but it will help with the quizzes. He has started taking attendance though, so be aware of skipping class. He doesn't grade the worksheets very hard. Quizzes/exams aren't bad, just do a decent amount of studying beforehand.

Bob is a nice guy who is passionate about film. Sadly, he has memory problems and will forget things and make errors. He designs very confusing and difficult tests. His words: he expects us to become film critics in his class. Attendance (Coursekey) and the textbook are needed. Expensive! For many, this is an elective class, but it is NOT easy.

Bob Jordan is an interesting professor. He has a very unique, dark sense of humor. I feel like it makes the class a little more enjoyable. You definitely have to show up to class, or at least make sure to watch the films at home if you do not show up. I usually cut out early, but my test grades would suffer because of it. Extra credit offered!

Bob is an amazing person and teacher. The movies he brings are up to date and interesting. Honestly, people just don't have any respect because they think it's just a film class. Come to learn, talk to him after class, and show that you care by participating and you'll do fine. Bob does everything he can to make us learn and be engaged. Take him!

He is very confused. I took him for TFM364a and b. He made mistakes in grading for both of the classes. He did not follow syllabus, and refused to admit mistakes until a lot of students complained about it. DO NOT TAKE HIM if possible.

The movies covered are really good. He's a nice man who deserves more respect from students. If you take the class stay if you don't want to go, take an online class. The class is easy IF you go AND study the book before the tests. He gives out extra credit sometimes at the end. I got an A but a lot of others didn't because they didn't show up

You just watch movies, and it's important to stay because he gives out answers to exam questions after and sometimes extra credit. Lectures before/after are kind of boring. There are also 3 worksheets from the textbook you have to do on the movies. The exams need some studying and are confusing. Don't take this class unless you need to.

He was alright. His lectures and workbook were heavily biased and opinionated ("this is a true work of art" or "this is the best film ever") and the structure of the class was disorganized. The grading system was pretty confusing as well. Would definitely not take his class again, and would definitely not recommend. I learned almost nothing.

If you have the option to have any other teacher do it. he's a subpar movie critic at best. I've taken 364A and more with Jordan and the quality of all classes are all equally bad. (given I had to take him because he was the only professor provided). SDSU please hire someone else. The class is an easy A if you go, but he almost make it unbearable

This class is great for an easy upper division GE. Bob Jordan is a great, funny, and entertaining professor. Homework due every week (3-4 questions on the movie shown the previous week) and a few tests over the semester. Everything you need to know is in his textbook he wrote (light reading, nothing big). Good guy, easy class.

Easy A. Show up to class, watch the movie and Don't use your phone! He will kick you out! Very funny guy, do the readings in his textbook, and complete the homework(seriously takes 15mins). Do not ask him, consult the syllabus first. He expects everyone to follow directions. Gives random EC for going to class and staying the entire time!

Some of the films are available to watch on netflix, amazon etc. Make sure to watch them all & read his text book bc if you don't, you will not pass the quizzes. Quizzes are straight from the films. Worksheets due from his book every class based on films watched. Not a hard class at all.

Took this class for extra units. Thought it would be an interesting class, I would recommend taking this class if you like to watch movies a lot and analyze them. The tests are not that easy but you will do fine if you read his book and study the notes. He certainly doesn't take any excuses and will kick you out if you are on your phone.

The only reason I rated him low is because near the end of the semester communication got pretty bad and confused many students. Overall is a good guy and obviously likes the subject. Do the work and you will get a good grade.

Easy A, just need to read the essays in the class textbook and get notes from someone that went to class (because you won't). He can't stand anyone under the age of 40, but is overall a cool guy as long as you never do anything stupid or anger him in any way. Don't ask too many questions, look at the syllabus when in doubt, and watch Donnie Darko.
