Comment:
Extremely knowledgeable about architectural history, including Seattle architectural history. I really enjoyed his class and am glad I had Bob Purser for a teacher. Tests were easy. Great about helping the class learn to use the resources of the library, media center, web.

Class went on and on. It's been a few years but I still remember spending my mornings catching up on sleep in the dark as he flipped through slides of buildings and rambled. Incredibly knowledgeable and passionate no doubt, and a good teacher for those who are interested. Just a nice old grandpa sort of fellow. But boring, and tests not easy.

Bob is a sweet grandfatherly figure who truly wants all his students to succeed. His lectures are well organized and 95% of class notes are already written for you in the module. Some students got sleepy from sitting in the dark for two hours and not needing to take notes. Of the 10 teachers I've had at BCC, he is the best.

This instructor knows his color, his art history, and he is a practcing artist as well. He really wants his students to suceed, and is very willing to help, via a collaborative process. He believes in class critique, which can be hard, but it never demeaning.

He will love you and love working with you if you are Scandinavian. Can be unclear, although he does seem to like teaching. It's highly doubtful that you will get an A, no matter how hard you work, if you are from a "primitive" country.
