Comment:
Literally the best prof I've EVER had. He practically begs students to give them extra marks for easy things like raising your hand once in class because he genuinely wants everyone to do well. I was dreading this class because it sounded so boring, but he made it SO engaging and easy to understand. 10/10 would recommend this guy

This dude is genuinely a good guy and a good prof. As others have said, he just teaches a dry and boring class. He's funny, tries to engage you, and even brings in relevant guest speakers. Quite a lot of homework, which means a lot of small marks for things that require a lot of effort. Participation requires too much effort for little marks.

Comment:
He genuinely tries to make the class interesting with humour, videos and guest speakers. The material itself is quite dry, which is unfortunate. Homework is time-consuming and not worth very much for the amount of effort you put into it. Know your material and be able to give compare and contrasting examples for the exams. Good prof, boring class.

Compared to the MIS course in general, Bob Travica is the best there is. As a prof in general, he's nothing special. You have to make sure to get chosen by him to talk in class in order to get the participation, it's not simply you blurting out the answers. The assignments marking is very unclear as he doesn't properly explain what is expected.

Professor Travica is a professor that gives me hope in Asper school of business. Most profs really don't care about their students, however this is far from Mr. Travica. He truly cares about ensuring all of his students are engaged. He teaches a very boring class, and the lab truly sucks in this class (content heavy), but I love him as a prof.

Comment:
His grading is harsh and his criteria is ambiguous. It's almost a game to figure out what will get a good grade. His exam questions are not well explained (e.g. if the question asks for a definition, you'd better include the definition, an example, and contrast it with a different loosely-related term for full marks). Helpful and friendly though

Comment:
His lecture style is a bit dull as it's hard to stay engaged during class. If you are shy, you will lose out on participation marks. He expects you to know a lot of detailed material so study well ahead of the midterm and final. Practice the short answer questions at the end of each chapter because he takes his exam questions from those.

Professor Travica is a good professor. He gives lots of feedback, and he provides lots of opportunity to have one's grade boosted through the use of multiple homework assignments throughout the term, all of which are straightforward.

Professor Bob is okay and makes some attempt to make the very dry material interesting. Be aware for the "information sharing" sessions after the group paper, which could be useful if constructive criticism was given. However, Bob instead teared into students over irrelevant details over power point slides and argued over references.

Bob is a really nice prof in Asper. He is kind and responsible to students. He doesn't deserve much hates in here. He payed attentions to students' comments, which he did change the participation mark from 8% to 5%. Altho It's hard to get high participation mark, even I participated more than my friend in the class, we still got the same mark, 50%

He teaches off from his own powerpoint slides during lectures and tries to make the content relatable and applicable in life. Unfortunately, some of the content is boring and obvious; plus side is that there are no barriers to entry. Content is online at his website for anyone to view. He seems to really try to improve his teaching this term.

The lectures are so boring and long. The other marks cannot help you to earn higher grades. The given exam marks are tough and the labs for the class are too boring. If you go to every lecture without discussing the topic, the participation mark will be given soooo low, like 3 over 14.5. That is terrible.

This guy doesn't deserve all the hate he gets on here. He's a good prof teaching a bad class. There is no textbook and attendance is not required, the online powerpoints have everything you need to know for exams. Labs are stupid but make up a decent part of your grades so go. Bob gives easy homework to boost your grade, and easy tests.

Mediocre prof. Very vague when it comes to course concepts and explanations. No textbook required except for the useless labs. Those are an even bigger waste of time.

This was by far the most boring class I have ever taken. He did not prepare us for the final at all. If you are good with computers than you will get atleast a B since this is simply an easy class but Bob will not help you there. Just be prepared for random questions on random topics that can be found in the textbook (atleast I think..)
