Where do I even start! Dr. Bennett is a nice guy, but tries way to hard to be funny, then makes it awkward by waiting for laughs. I consider myself to be a good student, but I have never struggled so hard for a C. He curves but without the curve ZERO of the tests had above a 55% average. At some point you need to stop blaming the students.

Dr. Bennett is passionate about what he teaches, as long as you show up and listen to the lectures, and look over the powerpoints before the tests you will be fine.

Dr. Bennett is one of the most boring professors in Arkansas State University. His lectures will make you fall asleep. Powepoints barely make any sense and exams are unnecessarily hard. Some material on the tests is not even on the book, making it really hard to do well on them. Curving helps but there's a reason why he curves his exams. Don't take

He's too dang smart for his own good! He gets boring with his lectures, and his tests are killer! I can't seem to make over a C on them. He does give out curves though (thankfully!) The only thing I remember about his class is southern cooking secret is sugar, bacon grease, and butter, and how to make beer. He is a funny guy though! Scary at first!

Dr. Bennett is a nice guy (intimidating at first) and is always willing to answer questions. Tests are tough, don't focus on a main topic, know everything on the powerpoint and skim through the book because he sometimes takes random info from the books and puts it on the test. I would take again.

Dr. Bennett tries really hard to break down complex lessons into easier lectures, but it still doesn't help much. He is very knowledgable in bio and so he carries on lectures expecting that we naturally know more than we do. Lectures drag because this class is based off of a PP slideshow. I would recommend trying to find a different professor.

This class isn't hard at all. He posts all his lectures online, if you read them and skim the chapters it's a breeze, and he's a really easy grader. My first test had a 14 point curve so it's clear he wants students to succeed. Yes, attendance is mandatory, but he literally says you're allowed to sign the sign-in sheet and leave without consequence

I loved Dr. Bennett. He is a very funny guy and makes class very fun. I had him for Honor's and I thought it was fairly easy. I took my own notes and also studied his. I made an A on most of my tests. I would definitely take him again if I had the chance.

I'm doing you a favor here when I say AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He is arrogant and obnoxious and a horrible teacher. He clearly understands the material well but does not explain it well.

I would definitely not recommend Dr. Bennett. His class was terrible. Attendance was mandatory but pointless. His lectures were dry, and he tried way too hard to be funny. Don't be late or he'll stop class and stare at you until you find a seat. You will not pass unless you read the book - the lectures are pathetic and useless.

Bennett is a "so-so" professor. Personally, I enjoyed the comedic, dry dispostion about him because it matches mine but his teaching could have been better. He's a stand-talker when teaching. Since the class is so large, it is best that you read and study (preferably in groups). It is possible to make a good grade if you're diligent enough.

He's a very knowledgeable professor. He tends to get a little boring during lectures, but they can be very interesting. He has a good sense of humor, and is a pretty open-minded guy. The class i took had around 150 students, which made it a less-personal class, making it a little harder. I would take another one of his classes.

Dr. Bennett is a good professor who has a good sense of humor, and understands students aren't perfect. He still greatly challenges you, but his class is by no means impossible. (also, don't be rude. he will call you out in front of the class.)

People and the Environment was a very difficult class. The tests were hard and he took attendance. The class had 120 students to begin with but ended up with less than 60 by the end. I barely got a B. I would recommend taking regular biology for your gen-ed requirement, and taking it with someone else.

Dr. Bennett was the hardest professor I've ever encountered. His class was very boring, the textbook wasn't all that helpful because his power points were what the tests were mostly over.The class was a waste of my money. Not Recommended!

Dr. Bennett is a pretty boring professor, but does his best with the material given. In People and the Enviornment the tests come from powerpoints. There is a lot of material on one test but if you read the chapters and powerpoints a B is not hard to keep. Final is not mandatory, but recommended.
