Comment:
Professor Halloran honestly made an intro class hard. The only way to study for exams is through powerpoints but only a couple of things of the powerpoint are on the test. She is passionate about this subject but tough class.

I hated anthropology as a subject because she was the teacher. She doesn't know what she's talking about, if you ask her a question she'll say she doesn't know unless theres a direct response from the book word for word; she can't come up with an answer. Her tests are hard and they don't relate to what she taught in class.

Professor Halloran made an intro class harder than it had to be. I don't like anthropology at all, and she made it hard for me to get an A. At the end of the semester if you have a certain amount of points you are exempt from taking the final and get an automatic A in the class. However, she marks down on everything. Would not take again.

Ms. Halloran does not want you to fail. Gives you an opportunity to do 20 points of extra credit. If you get a certain amount of points by the end of the semester then you don't have to do the final. Reading the book is the only way to pass the exams, homework, and assignments. It was a very interesting class overall.

Professor Halloran always makes it seem like you're bothering her if you email her or ask questions outside of class, like you should already know the answer. She's also not too friendly to you unless you are ALWAYS participating in class. I don't recommend her, she's not very nice.

Here's the deal: lotsa readings, but u only have to read 5 really(& pretend u did the rest) cuz u only report on 5( make the Johnson's at the end of the term one of them as it's imp for the final) Engage in discussions: ask questions or say something a SJW would. besides that: 2 meetings and 4+ service activities outside class to report on. easy A

She is a great professor! Very passionate about the subject and wants her students to succeed. Homework due every class but that is to be expected in a college class. Even let me retake one of the online reading quizzes when my computer froze up at home. Would highly recommend.

She's a great professor and knows her material. Tons and tons of papers, I enjoy writing papers but hers are ridiculous, way too many! 2 meetings, 5 reading responses, and 7 service logs and a final reflection paper. 15 papers total! Articles are interesting and the course is eye-opening but get ready to work for that A!!

Very cool class, opened my eyes a lot. Readings are articles and chapters from books on CTOOLS, and you turn in a response paper talking about the reading. Class discussions are on the readings and reflections. Midterm project is awesome. Service learning course, requires volunteer hours but it's not bad. I recommend this course.

I thought she was a wonderful teacher. She got better as the class went on. At first I didn't really know what she wanted on the papers, but she started passing out rubrics when students complained. She often holds meetings so everyone is on the same page, very easy to work with and flexible. Would recommend.

You will be writing tons of papers in this class. She is very forceful on her political views and if you disagree with her or on any of the readings when you write about them. She will drop your grade on all of your papers. She should be teaching at a DPS instead. Avoid this professor

very interesting class. Lots of reading, but the texts are really interesting. You will write a lot of papers in this class, but she has take home tests. Overall, she is a great and caring teacher. f you don't mind writing a lot of papers this is an easy A. Learned more about Detroit in 4 months then I learned from all my years living there.

The class was fun and good, however I received a lower grade then I thought I should have. When I asked the her about this she admitted to an error on her part. 3 months later, she still hasnt changed the grade. She is very unorganized.

This is a basic 100 level class. Just do the reading assignments and all of the extra credit that you can possibly earn and you will get an A. Also, if a student has an A going into the week of finals then they are exempt from the final!
