I was lucky to have this Professor for my English Seminar. She is easy to talk to and easy to understand even though she is highly intelligent. She is one funny lady, very dramatic and worth showing up to class for.

Great class! I took American lit II in the summer make sure you do all the reading, quizzes are on important details and are random. Dr. Lyons is awesome and helpful. She will let you know everything important about the literature.

Professor Lyons is awesome! She is so passionate about teaching! She does everything in her power to make sure her students understand the material. I recommend taking her during a minimester. Easy A! Interesting readings. She is funny and engaging! One of the best professors at UTSA!

Very passionate teacher, inspiring to be around. Reading is mandatory but still engaging and interesting. Attending class is important because of quizzes but she makes class fun and learning desirable so its not hard to make yourself go.

Very engaging. Knows material well. Likes you unless she finds out you're conservative. Her demeanor changed towards me & I *felt* that I needed to keep my opinions to myself in order to maintain a good grade. Most students laughed at her political jokes--I was just irritated & would have rather stayed on the subject matter.

Stay out of this class if you want to actually learn anything.We did nothing but banal, shallow analyses-deeper material can be found in SparkNotes.Gives pointless yes/no style quizzes that count for 40%.The only C I have ever recieved on a paper in several harder, upper-d lit classes.Condescending and thinks her interpretations are the only ones.

This woman should stick to teaching 2000 level courses. Most of what we went over was plot summary with just a sprinkle of literary criticism. Does not know how to referee a course; agrees with everyone. Does not have students defend their thoughts, cares little about rhetoric. My lower division courses were harder than this.

I love Professor Lyons! She is so sweet and helpful and lets the class choose the format of the exam. She also offers extra credit if it is needed. Easy A but ALOT of reading. Although she picks VERY interesting, great stories Be prepared to read! Pop quizzes each week over the readings!

Dr. Lyons is an excellent professor. Lit is not my favorite subject but her enthusiam for it really made the class interesting. Take this class during the Summer Minimester if you can because the tests are multiple choice. Reading the assignments is mandatory, but they weren't terribly long. Easy A.

She is friendly and tries to help. She is strict about bringing your book to class everyday. Pop quizzes, all the times. If you come to class everyday and pay attention, come prepared, you should do well on the tests. I didn't do good on the quizzes, but I was still able to get an A in the class. Literature is not my favorite subject.

She's an interesting lady, but towards the end of the semester during the poetry unit, she gets kind of boring because she tries to milk the poems to keep students longer. Her class was easy as long as you show up to take pop-quizzes, read, and attend the play, poetry and fiction readings. If you get them done ahead of time, it's smooth sailing!

Go to class, take notes, the TA makes up the test. There are tons of quizzes and outside work required like going to plays and what not. She isn't hard you just have to attend and read before hand. Readings aren't hard or too long.

I LOVE this professor and this class! Always interesting and entertaining. Everytime I came out of that class I felt much better about everything in the class and outside the class, almost like therapy!
