Comment:

Very good lecturer and person. This professor creates a very friendly, inviting class atmosphere which allows for students to openly express themselves and ask question etc. He is a very patient and a very smart person , I really enjoyed class and learnt a lot .

Comment:

I don't like that he hates Trump, but he's actually a decent teacher. You don't actually have to read the book, he just tells you what you need to know in class. Homework is graded slowly, but that doesn't matter when you get 100 every time. If you need to take his class, he's the only one teaching it in any given semester, so just take it.

Do not take if you do not have any knowledge of coding. Be prepared to self study and figuring out everything yourself. There are no TA's so the professor is your only help. His office hours are very short and is usually after class but tons of people go for it so you only get a chance to ask a few questions.

Everything taught in the course is based on Excel but the tests are paper. They're screenshots of Excel sheets and you write in what you would type in. Tons of memorization but he explains everything well. Posts all the powerpoints so just study those. No book. Friendly toward Mac-users. No homework. Just study and memorize and you'll ace the class

Completely worthless class. Make sure you go to class and take good notes. I took them by hand instead of on the computer, because on the tests you have to hand write all the equations and stuff. It is easier to study if you have them written out rather than on a spreadsheet.

His computer science classes move rapidly and Google is more helpful during the assignments than the teacher. If you manage to catch him on a day he actually comes to his office hours, he can be very helpful. Tests are fair, its simply the teaching and his disorganized style that makes this course difficult.

This class is either SUPER easy or SUPER hard, depending on the person. It was super hard for me cause I am not good at memorization and just not interested. Overload information per day. nice guy but not a good teacher. studders a lot when talking. the hardest two unit course at Pepperdine.

good teacher, easy to follow, funny guy too. class is simple enough u pay attention and go to class and study u should do goo, kids who do bad in here are morons and are the ones who dont pay attention and dont do the work. not a bad class at all.

Professor does not have great communication skills and, however, he taught a lot of interesting and really useful stuff and tests were only on the subject of the class. If you go through his lectures and practice a little at home, you'll be totally fine.

He gets very confused and the tests are hard. in the summer we had 4 people in the class who always attended and no one got an A. Comp science is a joke with his new system it is so hard and he grades the homework incredibly specifically. BORING BORING person with NO social skills. You have to really teach yourself alot.

I took this class for the business major, but ended up really enjoying it. Cupp isn't that great of a professor, but he teaches you enough that you can get by in his class. I got an A and am planning to add the CS major now.

I took cosc 250 this year under the new format in which Cupp just oversaw all the classes. He never showed up once, did not reply to emails, never graded****, and was probably the biggest joke of a teacher. Pepperdine hired 4 more teachers to be under him so Cupp could sit back on his ass and become an even worse teacher. This man is a ****ER...

Had him for intro to computer science. Given the subject he tries to make it interesting. He knows a lot, but does get it all mixed up pretty easily. Super nice guy, kinda funny in a different kinda way.

Quite possibly the WORST professor at Pepperdine. I have no how this man is still employed. He his course evalutions should seriously be looked at. He gets mad when you ask questions then won't answer. He told our class that we "were the stupidest class that he had ever taught." Totally unprofessional! Dont subject yourself to this man!

Doesnt know what he is talking about. Don;t know how to teach, BAd jokes. Not helpful. He tried to teach Math, and he doesn;t know anything about that. Students in my class have to correct him every time we meet. Not helpful at all, almost seem like he doesn;t want to teach but have to do it for money. Worse teacher pepperdine ever have. his first year with me he gave us some breaks here and there. Other people complained about him but they were the ones that don't belong in his classes in the 1st place.
