You really have to love journalism for this class. He's really, really tough, but with a good purpose. If you comply, he does an AMAZING job of moulding you as a journalist. He is VERY opinionated, so if you butt heads with teachers like that, maybe stay away. He is a brilliant prof., though. Thumbs up for sure!! The quizzes are BRUTAL, though.

Dr. Owens knows what he's talking about. He'll teach you more than you ever wanted to know about editing, but you HAVE to put in a big effort. Study for the quizzes, read the news, pay attention to every word he says. He'll mention something briefly once and expect you to remember it forever. He's great, but the class is very stressful.

He's much too smart to be teaching at Baylor. I took him in the summer, and our newsletter project was pretty easy because we didn't have much time to prepare it. What he teaches you will really help in the job market. This is the most practial class in the journalism department.
