Professor Knowles' class is tough.. I was in her class 12 years ago, and brought whole new level of challenge in my life. I remember working nights and days through her class. I doing fair currently collecting six figures yearly in public sector, and I do give credits to her discipline in the class made huge change. Thank you Professor Knowles!!

If you can avoid taking her I would. The amount of work expected is ridiculous, and quizzes and exams are very difficult. However, she does basically grade on effort put into class. So, if you show her that you're trying she'll make sure you pass. FYI: Don't waste your time doing the outlines!

Extremely hard class. Take a lot of studying and can be very overwhelming. None of the homework counts for a grade and the exams and quizes are very difficult. More students in my class fail the tests than pass.

Forces students to outline every chapter, not a simple outline, but a 10 page transcription of the text.I know what the best method is for ME to study. How arrogant and condesending can a teacher get? Making me waste that many hours every week is BS. Her sense of self importance is hyper-inflated. I heard 3.5 years til she retires. Wait if you can.

This class will take up much of your time. It is true she teaches this class as if you were preparing to take the bar. The class is very stressful but you will learn alot. I am not sure if you will need all that she teaches you but you will have that information. PS she wrote the book so you will know it when you are through with the class.

This was the most stressful class I've ever taken. The work load is too much for a 200 level course. You are required to outline the chapters, do hypotheticals, write 3 reports, all of which do not count towards your grade. The quizzes and tests are hard and you are not given enough time to complete them. YOUR GPA WILL DROP!

Take this class only if you have a passion for hard work and perserverance and have time to commit to this one class! It will take over your life, but you will become a better writer without a doubt! This class should be taken at a higher class level, not freshmen. Dr. Knowles does care about her students, but sometimes hard to notice.

DO NOT TAKE L201 WITH THIS PROFESSOR. Words cannot explain the amount of suffering you will endure because of this class. If you work a job and have a family, you will never complete a single assignment. Plan on studying a minimum of 25 hours per week. Did I mention the fact that you must memorize practically every chapter to pass the essay exams.

The work was endless but relevant. I will admit the handouts were 50% useless. I began the class hating her but by the end was extremely happy I took her. I took in summer and did great but would not recommend to someone with low reading level. Take her YOU WILL LEARN INVALUABLE INFORMATION.

The worst professor I have ever had. Very uncaring, unclear, hateful person. She took months to return students drafts and then incompleted the entire class. Do not take any of her classes at all costs!
