Make students respond and participate in the class to get 10% of the grade. The first answer is 0.5% of the mark, and each following - one-tenth of the first mark (0.05%). To get the 80% participation mark, you will have to answer an average of 6-7 times each class. Despite this, an amazing teacher and a professional in the field of marketing.

Tests are easy but long, everything is from the textbook or online modules. Participation is key to do well in the online weekly discussions.

Brent's a really good prof! He has a ton of experience in the marketing field, and really knows what he's talking about. He's really nice, fun, and genuinely wants to see students do well. Group project is a bit overwhelming, & midterm and final are straightforward. GO TO ALL HIS CLASSES, participation counts! alsogivesanswerstobonusqsonexams#

Effort needed is not too much but the discussion posts are brutal and unrealistic. Your asked min. 3 questions a week that are pointless and need to research to answer properly. He is also very unorganized in the way he sets up his course. Also, good luck getting a straight answer from him in his emails.

Brent goes above and beyond to help students that actually want to learn. He can come off as mean for being a hard marker but I have never had a professor that genuinely cared so much about his students. He loves teaching and that's what matters.

Really good at explaining concepts and simplifying things in lecture. Super straightforward midterm and final. We did weekly in-class assignments and he's a fair marker. Textbook is not necessary but helpful because some stuff on the midterm was not covered in lecture.

The effort required in discussion posts are ridiculous. Its an intro to retail course yet he asks from you 4 topics of discussion posts each week and 2 replies for each topic. Not to mention you have to research these posts and put sources to them. Ive taken a 3rd year and 4th year online course and both required 1 post and 2 replies weekly

If you can help it, get in Barr's class. He has a ton of real-world marketing experience so he really knows what he's talking about. He really engages all his students and inspires them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. He requires a high level of participation, out of my comfort zone but well worth it in the end. One of the best!

I took this class online, the amount of work you have to do for this class is ridiculous. This man is a fool, he acts like this is the only course that your taking. I have taken plenty of online courses, and the discussion board posts are usually one each week with one reply to a peer. This man makes us do four each week, not including replies.

I took his course on the summer and it was so far the best. There were 3 online midterms and a final exam (with multiple attempts). Since its online you have weekly discussion boards but they are fairly easy. The only downside is the 1min per question in the exams, so be sure to read the book as most of the questions are from there.

He's an okay prof. His lectures can be boring, & you definitely need to read the textbook word-for-word. His group project for the class was confusing with no structure except for page limits for word content/exhibits - choose your group wisely! It was a 6-9pm class and usually ended an hour or so early. Had class examples in midterms/finals too.

Horrible! I have had him twice and clearly I did not learn the first time!! His final group projects are unrealistic, 20-30 pages long and no form of clarity. His lectures are boring and participation is a must, worth 25%. He expects a lot and markers even harder. The only thing you gain from this prof is STRESS.

he a tough grader in a sense where he makes you work every minute for your grade. participation is a _______ :) you must attend every class and participate otherwise you will loose 25% of your grade. cant just come to class which sucks. and the reports are in the 20-30 page length. He as a prof may be awesome or not.. depends on you.

HORRIBLE PROF! Hard marker, unfair, and unclear for assignments. You can follow exactly what he states in the rubric and still you will not do well. The second time having him as a prof and I swear it doesn't get any easier. He makes students do unrealistic assignment that are difficult and then proceeds to marker them even harder.

Very passionate professor - his teaching method seems to be aimed towards inspiring student interest rather than simply providing knowledge. As a result, do very well, students are expected to (1) read the textbook & (2) show up to his entire class don't leave half way, many of the questions you will see on the exam will be directly from class.

fair prof & marker, beware of group projects (you get to pick your members), midterm & final was ok but confusing; for RMG100 no textbook but make sure to read all the articles & powerpoints AND makes you do push-ups if your 10 minutes late!

He can be pretty nice and helpful, but watch out! He is extremely hard when it comes to his exams. He will put quotes from his lectures on the exam without even warning you that it will show up on the exam, and he will put questions from chapters that haven't been covered! Also, he is mean to students who don't attend his class or leave early.

Not helpful or clear with the course. His midterms and finals are ridiculous and unrealistic. 80 MC in 80 minutes? Just doesn't make sense to me. You're tested more on your ability to answer within a given time frame than you are to understand the concepts and terms in the textbook. Unfortunately he is the only one who teaches this course.
